Can prostatitis cause groin pain?

It should be distinguished from other forms of prostatitis such as chronic bacterial prostatitis and chronic pelvic pain syndrome. Men with this disease often have chills, fever, fatigue, pain in the lower back and genital area, urinary frequency and urgency often at night, burning or painful urination, body aches, and a demonstrable infection of the urinary tract, as evidenced by white blood cells and bacteria in the urine. Acute prostatitis may be a complication of prostate biopsy.

What is the most pain a human can go through?

It is difficult to know the answer to this question for sure, but medical scientists generally consider cluster headaches to be the most painful condition that a human can experience. Cluster headaches are significantly more painful than even the most extreme migraine. They feel sort of like someone is taking a serrated ice pick and is stabbing it violently through your eye and into your brain. This can last for hours. 100% of people who have cluster headaches say that they've never experienced anything more painful in their lives (e.g., including women who have given natural childbirth). Many kill themselves, earning the condition the brutal moniker "suicide headaches."

Will unremoved wisdom teeth pain go away?

It really depends on the person. There are so many different factors that decide this. To name a few: your age, how many you got taken out, how experienced the dentist is, whether you get dry socket or not, how you deal with the pain, and what you try to eat afterwards. My guess is anywhere from a few days to a week and a half. Also if you smoke, you increase the risks of having a dry socket, which causes intense pain.

How long will a lumbar puncture headache last?

we have no idea, my newly aged 14 yr old daughter had all flu symptom's but severe neck pain so we did a lumbar puncture last Wednesday, today is monday and her head still hurts. we went back to the er on Thursday and received 2 shots in either arm with morphine for pain as she was now crying hysterically from the pain. it did relieve the pain enough that she was loopy but acting normally. they released her and gave us a prescription for morphine syrup, as she cant take pills. it really helped her catch up on much needed sleep, no blood patch was performed at advice of er doctor. so...here we are with the first day of school looming tomorrow and a headache that keeps her from sitting up, now 6 days later..help....

What is the nerve deafness occurring with aging?

Not all people suffer hearing loss due to aging. There may be a small percentage of the elderly who have nerve damage due to aging as any part of the body may age, but more likely even this is due to problems like circulation, diabetes and deficits from aging that impact the nerves. Most deafness is the result of damage to the ears as a result of listening to or hearing sounds too loud for us. Anything louder than what you can actually hear is damaging. Unfortunately we do not realize it at the time, unless it is painful. A loud rock concert for example could cause damage that would not really be apparent for twenty years. Like smoking, the damage to our hearing, much like to the lungs with smoking, takes decades to show up. So it's like asking why do old people get lung cancer?

Consider that as human beings for a hundred thousand years we were living in the natural environment. We are not designed for anything louder. Music, headphones, factory noise, power tools et al cause nerve damage. Once we begin to lose our hearing we then turn things up louder and do more damage. The cilia we have left, being unstimulated begin to die off even without loud noises. Turn everything down! The other cause is infection. Several ear infections over a lifetime or even one severe one can cause deafness. And that is why you must not stick anything in your ear. Related to this is that some antibiotics also damage your hearing. Measles is the most notorious pathogen to cause deafness.

If hearing aids are tolerable there is some proof that you can protect what's left of your hearing and stimulate the small hair like cilia, and prevent or slow down the inevitable increasing deafness.

What painkillers can you give to your dog?

  • You can buy over-the-counter painkillers for dogs, especially made for dogs. Search internet sites specifically offering dog supplies. If you don't know what's wrong with your pet, you shouldn't be medicating indiscriminately. Example...a one pound pigeon can be put to sleep permanently (and very painfully) if given a Bayer aspirin.
  • Do not self medicate your pets! You wouldn't hopefully do that to a child! Veterinarians are there for a purpose and they will have to examine your dog to make a diagnosis and they will tell you what medications you should give them. If you find the medications from the vets too expensive (and often they are) and you really can't afford it, get the prescription and have it filled at your local pharmacy (often less expensive). Be sure to tell the pharmacist that it is for your dog and also the weight of the dog and they'll do the rest and give you instructions with the medications. If you can't afford a vet find one and offer to work off your bill. They often need someone to clean out the cages or take the dogs "in hospital" for short outings of fresh air. See your vet as soon as possible! If your dog is old or has a very painful disease it's time to discuss with the vet what quality of life your dog is going to have and then it's a decision you will have to make from there. Don't let your "friend" suffer needlessly.
  • At the vet I have been given Metacam its a liquid, and have used Rimadyl, I prefer the Metacam as it does not damage the stomach as much, Rimady and a drug called Baytril (which I think is for an infection) usually upsets stomach and the vet may tell you to give a little Tagemet, but only under vet's care and advise. I got this from a vet website: http://www.vetinfo.com/daspirin.html
  • Aspirin has the same problems in dogs that it has in people. It can cause gastrointestinal upsets and ulcers if the GI signs are ignored. It can cause renal failure if overdosed. It causes an increase in clotting time. This usually isn't a serious side effect but it does occur. Despite these shortcomings it has a lot of beneficial effects and it is inexpensive. The currently recommended dosage of aspirin varies a little from publication to publication but it is between 5 and 15mg/lb every 12 hours. Since there is a range I usually pick the middle of it and go for about 10mg/lb every 12 hours. This works well and seems to be pretty safe. That works out to an aspirin tablet per 32 pounds of body weight twice a day. I have to admit that I rarely advise giving more than 2 aspirin twice a day despite the fact that some big dogs could obviously take more based on the per pound calculation.

Can bad tooth cause shooting pains in head and ear?

Absolutely. I had what I thought was a migraine until I went to a dentist and discovered that my root canal had gotten infected. If you've got shooting pains in your head (especially the side!) or ear or neck, and you've already had those things checked out, definitely head to the dentist and get your teeth checked too.

What causes sharp pains behind left ear?

It is hard to say. But, if it persists more than a couple of days or you have a temperature, check in with your doctor. Some ideas from Mayo clinic:

* Try temperature therapy. Apply hot or cold compresses to your head or neck. Ice packs have a numbing effect, which may dull the sensation of pain. Hot packs and heating pads can relax tense muscles. Warm showers or baths may have a similar effect. * Massage painful areas. Apply gentle pressure to your scalp or temples. Alleviate muscle tension with a shoulder or neck massage. * Drink a caffeinated beverage. In small amounts, caffeine can enhance the pain-reducing effects of acetaminophen and aspirin.

What would Cause continuous pain in right arm from the shoulder to fingers making it feel heavy?
