What is the difference between Parole officer and Probation officer. If anybody know about this please let you know?

Probationers are under the jurisdiction of the courts and are attempting to avoid the imposition of a suspended prison sentence by complying with the conditions of probation. Parolees are inmates allowed to serve their time in the community and are under the jurisdiction of the Department of Corrections. In some states one agency supervises both types of offenders and in others there are separate probation and parole agencies. I personally supervise a combined caseload of adult felony probationers and parolees.

What is the good thing about parole?

Does probation urinalysis test for methadone?

Drug courts as well as general district, circuit courts, etc., can test for methadone, suboxone, subutex, and the "regulars". These include, marijuana, cocaine, methamphetimine, benzodiazapines, etc. If you are taking methadone and preparing to go to any kind of court, you should be ready to stop. Depending on your sentence, you may be put on probation. In this case you can be tested for any of the above drugs at any time. I was on methadone maintenance and was ordered to stop it by the court because i was on probation. I did not heed the courts request and it almost put me in prison for 3 years. I got lucky.

What does 24 months probation mean?

Sometimes 24 months probation has to do with criminal law. That means a person committed a crime. For the next 24 months he or she must make a probation officer aware of his or her whereabouts 24 hours a day. Also the probation officer may require said person to appear at a certain place within a certain length of time at any moment, day or night during that period. Also if the probationer commits a crime, that person will go to jail and then face a judge.

Other times 24 months probation would have to do with a job. A probational employee is one that can be fired with no answer given. During that time period the boss can simply say, "You are fired." After the probationary period, the person becomes a full time employee.

Does A probation officer still come to your house when your on mail in probation?

Theoretically yes: a probation officer can still come to your house or visit your workplace regardless of what type of probation you are on. However, in most states if you were placed on administrative probation this normally doesn't happen. Administrative probation basically means you are still subject to your terms and conditions of probation but are not being supervised by a probation officer. If you violate any of the standard conditions of administrative probation, it's the same as violating your probation if you were supervised. However, even under those circumstances, you could still get a visit from a probation officer, although that is extremely rare: probation officers have their own caseloads to deal with.

What would a parole officer wear to work?

Parole officers in Maine look like plain clothes cops---they dress however they want. I don't know if its the same everywhere. I think it is though because parole officers dressing in normal clothes gives them an edge--they come knocking and your dumb roomate thinks it's just a normal person and ANSWERS the door. If parole officers wore a uniform, you'd see them coming a mile away and shut off the lights and close the shades. :)

What is holdback inmates?

"Holdback" jail inmates, are inmates that are being held back for state and federal prison systems, as well as other local correctional agencies. Almost all of the "holdback" jail inmates were being delayed due to overcrowding in adult prisons for felony offenders.
