One common definition of a cult is an authoritarian organization led by a charismatic personality who enforces obedience to his ideals and beliefs. By this definition, the United Church of God (UCG) is not a cult, because it is governed by a 12-man council of elders. However, the Church faithfully teaches the doctrines of the now deceased Herbert W. Armstrong, who was a very charismatic and controlling leader of the Worldwide Church of God (WCG), which was widely considered to be a cult. Armstrong believed that he was an end-time apostle proclaiming the soon-coming 'Kingdom of God'. WCG discontinued Armstrong's teachings after his death, prompting members faithful to Armstrong doctrines to split and form their own organizations. The United Church of God is one of many of these offshoot organizations. These organizations vary from moderate to more extreme forms, the latter of which tend to have controlling leaders and exhibit clear characteristics of a cult. The more moderate groups, such as UCG, have departed from Armstrong's more eccentric teachings such as a ban on birthdays and makeup.

The United Church of God teaches a unique form of Christianity derived from the teachings of Herbert W. Armstrong, which is known by non-adherents as 'Armstrongism'. Armstrongism teaches that groups of the same beliefs are the 'only true church', and that all other religions are false or satanic counterfeits. 'Converted' members are seen as an exclusive and select group of people specially chosen by God to become 'first-fruits' - a future group of 'god-beings' and 'kings and priests' in the literal earthly 'Kingdom of God.' God has specially 'drawn' his 'elect' and revealed the hidden knowledge of his 'truth' only to them, whereas the rest of the world is blinded by Satan to this special knowledge. The 'sign' of God's 'chosen people' is literal sabbath keeping and obedience to the Old Covenant (Mosaic) law, excluding temple and ritual laws. Significant demands are placed on members, such as two tithes and Holy Day observances. Members are not permitted to work from sunset to sunset on Holy-Days or the Sabbath (Saturday), even if they lose their employment as a result. Armstrongist groups, such as UCG, consider themselves as being different and apart from 'the world', i.e. non-believers. As an example, they will not celebrate Christmas in any form because Christmas is 'extra-biblical' and 'pagan' in origin.

Other key UCG beliefs that differ from traditional Christianity include the rejection of the Trinity, and their belief that Western white nations (predominantly England and the U.S.A.) are the direct lineal descendants of the northern tribes of Israel.

Adam and Eve lived for hundreds of years, and had many children throughout those years. We are not told exactly when during those years Cain killed Abel, but a significant period of time passed since their birth because they were fully grown( we know this because they offered their own sacrifices rather than Adam offering sacrifice for them

The pentecostal religion is about, living life accordingly to the bible. The pentecostal religion agree's with everything in the bible, no picking and choosing. Acts 2:30-36 clearly states salvation: Then peter said unto them; Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remmission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:36: For the the promise is unto you and and children and as many afar off as the Lord our God shall call. Also many people think that cutting hair is not going to mess up their salvation, that's false. A man shall not have long hair and a woman shall not have sheared/cut hair. This all stems from when Lucifer, once an angel, tried to take over. He was in charge of beauty, he was very powerfull. When God locked him in hell, all the glory that was taken from Lucifer was placed on the womans head, as her hair. A womans hair is her glory. When a woman shears/cuts her hair she is giving glory to Lucifer/Satan. That is a form of worshiping Satan. Which if a person worships Satan then they are idoling him and not God. (It's in the Ten Commandments: Thou shalt not worship any false Gods.) Which is a sin and no sin shall make it to heaven. If you have sinned you are not lost forever, all you must do is ask God for forgivness, and he will write you in the Book of Life.

There is no scripture that says exactly come as you are, but rather one that is interpreted as to be saying that. When Jesus gave the parable (Matthew 22:1 - 14) of those bidded to come to the wedding of a king's son but refused, made light of it and even killed those that had been sent out to offer his invitation. He then sent for the people of lowly status to come not in fine clothes or bearing gifts for great price, merely to come just as they were and the garments would be provided for them ready and willing to take part in a marriage. Only one was cast out and that was one who had come not ready to put on the festive robe (in this case the robe of righteousness) but rather to spectate the event.

Baptist Churches and Pentecostal Churches have significant differences in theology and interpretation of Scripture which lead to very clear differences in worship and religious experience. I myself, am I pentcostal, and Being Pentcostal is meaning, you belive in ONE God, that God, Jesus, and the Holy Sprit, are all ONE. We also belive that Girl should only wear shirts, and no they do not have to be to the ankle skirts, they can be right above the knee, We belive in modesty, and modesty alot. The word gospel literally means "good news" and occurs 93 times in the Bible, exclusively in the New Testament. Evangelical Christians do not all believe this, because that branch of Christianity can include anything from Baptist to Lutheran. Pentecostal is a broad term that covers several denominations such as COGIC, Assembly of God, Apostolic, and several others. So in a sense, it is a denomination.
