What are the duties of a mother in the church?

First be friendly and loving to the widows, singles and young married women. The women of excellence should be known for their generous and loving hearts. They are to pray and keep the ministry and leader before the Lord. She should be made aware of whose sick among them, convey messages to the deacons and make periodic calls to members who may have slacked in their commitment to the church.

Why is the holy spirit important in pentecostal worship?

A:

The New Testament is replete with references to the Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost), for example, 1 Thessalonians 4:8 : "He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit."

To disbelieve in the Holy Spirit would therefore mean seeing the New Testament as theologically unreliable, which is a difficult position for a Christian to take. On the other hand, belief in the Holy Trinity is somewhat less fundamental to Christian faith.

Is Aled Jones divorced?

Yes...don't ask me who because I don't know.

Hes married to Claire and they have two children, Emilia and Lucas.

What does it mean to pray in the spirit?

First you must ask Chirst into your life and ask him to forgive you of your sins. John 3:16

Then ask the Father to give you the Holy Spirit.

Luke 11:13 says, "…how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" So if you want to receive your baptism in the Holy Spirit, ask Him now.

Where did Cain live after slaying Abel?

The bible tells us that Cain and Abel were brothers. Cain and Abel both made an offer to the Lord. The smoke from Abel's altar went straight up to heaven, but the smoke from Cain's altar stayed on the earth. Cain did not offer as the Lord had told them too. Cain was displeased and later killed his brother.

Cain became the first murderer! Murderers do not enter heaven!

Lesson: watch out for jealousy!!!

Jesus forgives but you have to do this with a true repentant heart and certainly kill no more! Cain knew what he was supposed to do, though it is assumed in the Bible as they were intelligent people (as they were about 50 times as smart as us), and that was to offer a sacrifice, a living sacrifice, but he did what he wanted, and offered of his own hand, his works, his plants/crops. Abel also knew what he was to do, and though his brother did not do the right thing, he was to, and he offered a lamb, a living sacrifice, one that was to symbolize Christ on the cross, which was also a prophesy itself, as abel was as a lamb and he died by his brother's hand, as Christ would later do, without any recorded struggle, which was the way in Christ would also die as well.

What are the duties of a missionary in the pentecostal church?

Bishops tend to be found in the episcopalian church, Anglican church and Roman Catholic Church (and in some branches of the Methodist Church) and not the pentecostal church. A bishop is the third level of ordained clergy, deacons and priests being the other two. A bishop is the church leader of an area called a diocese which consists of many churches, parishes and clergy. A diocesan bishop has the sole right to sit at the cathedra - the bishop's throne for the diocese, the church iin which this is kept being called a cathedral. Usually cathedrals are large and lavish churches only found in larger cities. The bishop is responsible as spiritual head of the diocese and as such he has the authority to appoint clergy, ordain, confirm, administer, and so on. Although much delegation is done, in theory, nothing can really happen within the diocese without his ppermission. He is expected to take a leadership role in the Church nationally and sometimes internationally. because of their busy roles, larger dioceses have suffragen bishops - assistants who do not have a cathedral position. In addition, archdeacons - priests given a special administrative role - also aid the bishop in his duties across the diocese.

Does the devil know what we are thinking?

No. And, since he is very clever and knowledgeable about human nature, he doesn't need to to achieve his evil purposes. The devil as a created being is not omnipotent or able to read minds, but, to be honest, one doesn't need much intelligence to know what some people are thinking, especially if one knows them.

What is a pentacostal Christian?

I believed they are, however the issue of speaking in tongues is something that they should keep between themselves and God. No doubt still possible this can be given a spiritual gift from God and if so anyone who wish to use this must interpret the word his saying, so it will edify the body of Christ, if he or she's unable to do that, then is purely not come from God.

Because how could you be effective in preaching the Word of God if no one will understand the word your saying.

A Spirit of Truth-- Is the Word of God.

A Spirit of confusion, means no one understands the word your saying.

Why do popes change their real name when elected?

No Pope is obligated to change his name. This is a pious tradition (not Sacred Tradition).

The practice arose when a pagan convert to Christianity became Pope and changed his name from Mercury (after the pagan Roman god) to John II in 533 C.E.

Until then, the Popes kept their original names, from Peter (#1) to Boniface II (#55).

Between John II (#56) and Sergius IV (#142) in 1009 C.E. only a few Popes changed their names.

But since Sergius IV, it has been common practice for all Popes to change their name when elected pontiff except Adrian VI and Marcellus II.

Do pentecostals believe in soul sleep or an immortal soul?

Baptists, at least Southern Baptists, do not believe in soul sleep. When Jesus spoke to the thief on the cross He told him that he would be with Him TODAY, not some distant time in the future. Baptists understand the use of the word "sleep" in the New Testament as a euphemism for death. When Paul was contemplating what became of one at death, he wrote that to be absent from the body (dead) was to be with Christ. There is no intermediate step between death and being with Christ.

Was bishop noel Jones wife?

No priest or religious sermon may be married unless their spouse died. Not true. Noel Jones is a bishop in one of the pentacostal churces, "Church of God" something. They can be married. The Roman Catholic Church is one of the very few that prohibits clergy from marrying. Many churches have bishops.

When did they hang Jesus on the cross?

Two unnamed criminals. One was a criminal and the other was a murderer; I don't recall the Bible giving names.

How many Bible stories are there about Pentecost?

A:There are two stories in the Bible, one about the Christian Pentecost and one for the Jewish Pentecost.

Acts chapter 2 says that on the day of Pentecost, everyone that was in the upper room, was filled with the Holy Spirit coming down on them as tongues of fire. They began to speak in tongues as the spirit gave them the utterance. This was the Christian Pentecost.

The Jews also celebrated a Pentecost, also known as Shavuot, from the second century BCE onwards, and hence when the New Testament was being written. It recalls the story of the giving of the Law on Mount Sinai. It takes place fifty days after Passover, just as the Christian Pentecost takes place fifty days after Easter, which originated with the Passover. Numbers 11:25 tells us that on the earlier occasion, the spirit of God came down on the seventy elders and they began to prophesy in ecstasy. The parallels in the two accounts indicates that the Christian Pentecost story was inspired by the earlier one.

Another Answer:

Called the 'Festival of Weeks' or the Feast of Firstfruits - also called Pentecost in the New Testament - has many mentions in Old Testament and 3 mentions by the name Pentecost in the New Testament. However the theme of the 'firstfruits' is threaded throughout the Scpripture. The 'firstfruits' of God (John 6:44) are those who are being called in their physical life and are relatively few - unlike the popular mainstream teachings. These will become the bride of Christ at the marriage supper described in the Book of Revelation.

What is the purpose of the seven arch angels?

The Bible only names one Archangel, Michael, although it is generally stated that there are three - the others being Gabriel and Lucifer, now Satan. There are others in the Apocryphal writings of certain branches of Christianity.

Jude 1:9New International Version (NIV)

9 But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn him for slander but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"

Gabriel is generally associated with being the deliverer of critical messages from God. He, therefore, is considered by some to be this unnamed archangel:

1 Thessalonians 4:16New International Version (NIV)

16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

Lastly, as both Gabriel and Michael are mentioned as being at either side of God's Throne, the then angel Lucifer was said to be above the Throne. Therefore, he was considered an archangel who is now the 'Adversary.'

Where is hallejuah is the highest praise in Bible?

Contrary to popular teachings that come from worship leaders and beliefs that permeate Christendom, Hallelujah is not the highest praise according to the Scriptures. Although we find Alleluia being cried in heaven, the Word of God gives us an explicit answer to this question. In the book of Nehemiah, we read...

Neh 9:5 Then the Levites, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said, Stand up and bless the LORD your God for ever and ever: and blessed be thy glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.

We know that the name of the Lord is Jesus. Hence, the name of Jesus is the highest praise! So just shout Alleluia Jesus!

What nationality is Jesus?

On earth, Jesus was Jewish.

Luke 2:4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judæa, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David: .

As Joseph was of the lineage of the House of Judah as was David, so to was Christ.

Christ came through the lineage of Judah, or the house of David.

He was ethnically Jewish, but a citizen Israel. Jesus would have to be born in Rome to be considered a Roman citizen...and He wasn't.

The bible is clear that Jesus was a Jew in the lineage of King David on his earthly adopted father Joseph side.

Answer: Joseph wasn't Jesus' father, so his lineage doesn't establish Jesus' nationality. However, Mary was also descended from King David through his son Nathan (rather than Solomon, as was Joseph), and this lineage established Jesus' earthly nationality as Jewish.

  1. "Jewish" isn't a nationality at all and never has been, so that is obviously not the right answer.
  2. The ancient Kingdom of Israel had ceased to exist about 700 years before he was born. He could not have been a citizen of Israel, so that is not the right answer, either.
  3. The Bible says he was born in the town of Bethlehem, which was in Judaea. However, that was not where he lived (Joseph and Mary had gone to Bethlehem only because of the Roman tax census). Jesus lived most of his life in Nazareth, which was in Galilee. That is why he was known as "Jesus of Nazareth".
  4. Long before Jesus was born, Galilee, Samaria and Judaea had been part of the independent Kingdom of Judea, but they were under Roman control at the time of Jesus's birth. Galilee was quite separate and distinct, in every way, from Judaea. People born in countries that had been conquered by Rome did not automatically become Roman citizens; they were citizens of the country where they lived. Therefore, it would be most correct to say that Jesus was Galilean.

Are their any saints to the Pentecostal Faith?

No they simply believe in GOD JESUS the holy ghost and all of the gifts and that the saints were examples as well as teachers trying to tell us of GOD's love and kindness as well as how to stay close to GOD and they use their own life story's in many occasions to teach.

What denomination is Assembly of God?

The Assemblies of God is a denomination itself. They do fall under the Pentecostal label though. They have 16 fundamental truths that all churches must adhere to, but are fairly autonomous.

Its origin took root from Charles Parham. He was a Methodist that converted later after he decided to teach about his views on healing, and baptizing in the Holy Spirit. William J Seymour was a pupil of his, who stood outside the class to receive his teachings because he was not allowed by Parham to stay in the class because of his ethnicity. William J Seymour played a part in the founding of the "Apostolic Faith Church" which believe in many of the same things but don't have to adhere to the 16 fundamental.

The Assemblies of God have what they call the "16 fundamental Truths" In order to be a part of this, the particular church must abide by these doctrines regardless if they are a district church or a independent church. The "Assemblies of God has a superintendent for the national and the district headquarters. Under the assistant superintendent, one has the head presbyter and then other presbyters under him. The Presbyter and district superintendent leads churches that are governed on their own but has full authority over churches in the district.

Angels in heaven?

Yes there are angels in heaven. They have the responsibility of carrying out God's will either in heaven or here upon the earth. Angles can be Pre-existant Spirits, Tanslated Beings or Resurrected Personages. Even righteous mortal men have been referred to as angels.

In what ways do you think John's vision of Jesus differs form the Jesus he knew in person?

Those who study the Historical Jesus attempt to put a chronology of Jesus of Nazareth from lineage directly back to King David, from details of his life and death recorded by contemporaries, through the chronology of the writings of Apostles to the establishing of the Christian Canon 300+ years later by the Council of Ephesus (325 AD). It should be noted that a large number of Christians do not accept or believe in the efforts and conclusions reached by scholars pursuing the Historical Jesus idea. The first known written record of Jesus' life and teachings is called the Q Document. It supposedly has in it notes of the teachings that appear in the four Gospels. The author of the Q Document is unknown and the writing themselves do not lend themselves to narrative. Not all scholars accept this document as canon in Holy Scripture. The letters that Saul/Paul wrote to the Christian communities he established seem to have been written between 40 and 60 AD. With respect to the four Gospels, researchers date the writing of the Gospel of Mark to the period between 55 and 65 AD. This was the first of the four Gospels of the Christian Canon. Its brevity could indicate that Mark's intended audience was universal. Matthew's Gospel is directed at the Jews for establishing Jesus as The Messiah. It was written during the period of active warfare between the Israelis and the Roman occupation. That would place Matthew's writing of his Gospel around 70-75 AM. Luke's Gospel appeared during the early 80s AD, was written in Greek and directed to a Greek culture that was ubiquitous during that period. Later, Luke wrote about the Act of the Apostles following Pentecost. None of the four Gospels include the activities following the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The question of a possibility of John's vision of Jesus being different from the Jesus he knew in person does not take into account that the Gospel of John was written around 120 AD. John himself, or the authors writing from the perspective and teaching of John the Apostle, could not have known Jesus in person, i.e., prior to the Crucifixion in 33 AD. The Gospel of John differs from the other three Gospels because it is written to affirm Jesus as Christ to the several Christian communities, that is, to believers in Jesus as The Messiah. The purpose of this Gospel is not to convert non-believers, but to enhance and deepen the faith of the early Christians being persecuted by Jews and Romans. If one accepts the time and audience researchers have concluded about the Gospel of John and the Book of Revelations, then the question of difference is moot.
