You could figure the speed if no other conditions apply by knowing the circumference of the gear and the circumference of the object being turned with some simple multiplication. Ahhh but it's never that easy. When determing what you can expect for speed there are many variables to consider such as weight, wind resistance and so on. For example: if your car had 60 horsepower and could travel 110 mph, simple math would say that if you had 120 horsepower your car should be able to go 220 mph. We know that's not going to happen because of the drag, weight resistance and so on. So sorry it just isn't that easy.

if you get an old toothbrush and put dish soap on it it will get the scuffs and dirt off of dance shoes, wipe off the soap with baby wipes or paper towels. if they are satin ballet shoes i would get them professionally cleaned at the dry cleaners because you can perminatly stain them with soap or water! Not good!

I think they are one of the finest student flutes you could have at any price. Durable, good looking, nicely made with many features on top end flutes and incredible sound (high silver content). E.L. DeFord put much effort into his passion. The older ones from the 1970's are getting harder to come by. I still have the one I made first chair in junior high from 1975. It took me through concert and marching band (even sub zero temps). My daughter plays it now (it's had new pads) and she has first chair. Not bad for an investment of $150 bucks back then (amoritize the cost, if you like)! If you can find one, even in need of repair, get it ( fix it, if necessary)

What grabbed my interest even more was the fact that Emerson Deford himself, last year personally donated a handmade flute to a young high school fellow who waa going into serious competition in Illinois somewhere and was too poor to possess an instrument tht corresponded with his amazing talent. What a

moving bit of heartfelt devotion to music on the part of Mr. Deford.

It needs an overhaul but still plays capably well with the foot joint from my other flute for now(serious spring pproblem tto--but all fixable). Once I cleaned it up and gradually remoistened and played up the pads it has a great sound particular to Defords I believe, good smooth action with no clicks or clunks after all these years too.

Thanks for your input. I love my 10B thinwall Deford. It's from around 1975 and still plays beautifully. All silver too, keys and all. Projects great volume and looks great too.

My daughter unfortunately got suckered into joining and doing the Ipas showcase summer 2013. DO NOT DO IT. We paid so much money and all it is is a major, major competition to steal your money. Please listen to me. DO NOT DO IT. During the rehersal period of the program your coach will hype it up, make it sound like you are already a start but what you don't know is that thousands of kids from all over the country will be there and maybe 1 or 2 out of the whole competition will make it. The odds will be so against you. Once you get to the competition site, it is stressfull as hell and the judges do nit give a hoot. Trust me we saw it all and never again. If you are an aspiring actor/ress invest in acting classes. Look up castings for modeling or commercials. My daughter and all her friends from Ipas regret every moment spent. Don't say I didn't warn you. They start saying it will only cost $5,000.00 at first by the end you will have spent close to $9,000.00.

If you are thinking of what I think you are a dance mat is a mat that kind of feels life rubber,like a yoga mat but thicker and fluffier. They use dance mats in acro/gymnastics so in case you fall while doing a trick you don't hurt yourself severely.

You should probably wear eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, lip gloss/stick, and foundation. This is all depending on what you look like. I would suggest something slightly bolder then your normal everyday makeup but don't stray to far from it, then you could either mess up, or it wouldn't look good on you. Hope this helped!

First you make a quiff at the front. Then you make one ponytail at the top of your head. Then you put the ponytail through a doughnut and clip into place. Then using the grips on the wig clip it over the doughnut and at the bottom on the neck. put clips everywhere. Pull it forward beside the ears and secure with grips. place hairband just behind quiff. and clip into place.
