Where did band 1755 get its name?
They're an Acadian band, so they chose 1755, a year that Acadians will never forget. It was during this year that the vast majority of Acadians were deported out of their lands and homes by the British to British Colonies in America. Today they are known as: Massachussets, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North and South Carolina and Georgia. That is why you find actors with Acadian last names who hail from America (ie: Matt LeBlanc, Christian J. LeBlanc). Their ancestors were deported to America.
