Could u analyze Hedda Gabler?

Hedda Gabler is about a cold, manipulative woman's unhappy marriage and eventual suicide. She's a beautiful woman, former belle-of-the-ball type and daughter of a renowned general; she plays with his pistols when she's bored. (Note that the title of the play is her maiden name, Hedda Gabler, not her married name, Hedda Tesman). She marries down to a second-rate academic because she was out of options, and is openly disdainful of her husband and his family (though he never seems to pick up on it). Hedda's interactions with Thea prove her to be cruel and manipulative (ex. when she makes Eilert think that Thea doesn't trust him and tauntingly brings up the threat she used to terrorize Thea with at school, of burning off her hair). Through her discussions with old flame Eilert Lovborg, we realize that she is drawn to the passionate, wild and beautiful things in life, but though not religious she is bound by the rules of society and terrified of being involved in scandal. She is also pregnant, but denies this because she doesn't want to be a mother. She openly admits to being a coward a heart. Her reasons for destroying Eilert's manuscript aren't clear, but the most obvious are sheer resentment towards Thea and Eilert. Her suicide is caused by a few main factors: 1.) she's disillusioned because Eilert's death was crude and ignoble, not beautiful as she'd hoped; 2.) Judge Brack is basically blackmailing her to have sex with him because he alone knows that Eilert was killed with her pistol (if that got out, everyone would know she was involved with a wild alcoholic and scandal would ensue); 3.) her husband is planning on spending even less time with her now that he's reconstructing Eilert's manuscript. Other implicit factors may include her pregnancy and lack of control over her life. Basically, Hedda Gabler is a woman who was unable to find beauty, courage, or control over her own life, so she cruelly manipulates others and eventually kills herself.

Son of gloucester in King Lear?

Gloucester has two sons in the play. His blood son is Edgar while his illegitimate son is Edmund.

A bit about Edmund:

Edmund is outraged that Edgar is getting all of their father's inheritance while he gets nothing. To change this, he writes a hate letter to his father and tricks him in to thinking that Edgar wrote it. His devious scheme and actions that follow gain him the power and inheritance he wanted along with extra trust from his father. To continue to rise to power and hurt his father he takes any valuable information he gathers from Gloucester (ex. when Gloucester confides that he is going to help Lear; has a letter about Cordelia) and tells it to Cornwall (Regan's husband)

A bit about Edgar:

Edgar, having been fooled by Edmund, runs away from the castle after his father sends guards after him (after he read the letter) and becomes a poor Tom (beggar) in order to stay hidden and find out whats going on. As a beggar he aids Lear and saves his father from killing himself (tricks him). Later he reveals to his father who he really is and learns the truth about what happened.

Why was William Shakespeare's marriage seen to be scandalous?

There was nothing scandalous about William Shakespeare's marriage. Anne was around eight years older than William when the pair married in 1582 (William was eighteen), and there seems to have been a special licence issued to get the marriage through in a hurry (Anne was pregnant). But marrying a girl older than yourself was not very unusual in a sixteenth century farming community. A young man with ambition (which William certainly was) needed a mature woman to manage his local affairs while he traveled to seek his fortune in London. And marrying a bride who was already pregnant was almost normal (fiancés were considered as good as married even in Chaucer's time, as the Wife of Bath reminds us).

Identify king Claudius queen Gertrude Laertes and Polonius?

There he is! There she is! There they are!

I don't know how you can identify a character from the play without looking at the play. Are you asking how these people are related to each other? The king and queen are, unsurprisingly, married to each other. Laertes is Polonius's son and Polonius is the councillor to the king.

Why is the handkerchief important to Othello?

To Othello, a lady's handkerchief is a token of her loyalty. To this Moor, led by blind passions, superstitions and misguidance, the possibility for a chance of a lady's handkerchief being misplaced or lost does not occure and even if it occurs, not acceptable. That is why this unimportant matter of a handkerchief becomes important to him.

â??The Zoo Storyâ?? by Edward Albee is about a bizarre meeting. One day, Peter is accosted by a man who continues asking him personal questions. Eventually he answers, then finds when it is the other manâ??s turn to share, he relates something thatâ??s not the type of thing a stranger would relate.
