I am of Polish descent, and like most nationalities and ethnicities of Europe, it think physical traits can vary depending on the region your ancestory derives from and also their own backgrounds. For instance, I am very blonde and blue eyed and have been asked by a majority of people if I was born in Poland. However, I also know some fellow Polish pals who have dark hair and dark eyes. Generally in Polish circles this is attributed(sometimes in a joking manner) to having "Mongol" in them. This is due to the farthest reaches of the Mongolian empire being in parts of Southern Poland. This brings a more diverse look to many people of Polish descent. Also, it should be noted that Poland was annexed by Austria, Germany, and Russia through the course of its existence so citizens between the countries mixed amongst themselves and created different physical characteristics.
