What is the difference between a v6 and a v8 in an SUV?

Answer Two Pistons !! A V8 will give you more power.Answer

1- usually v8 has worst mileage, except in some SUVs

2- V8's typically have more Horse Power - so better acceleration

3- Some V8's have better torque, although many V6's can be tuned for better torque at low range - which is what one needs to get out of snow, mud, going up hills, etc.

4- Compare the V6 and V8's based on their mileage (usually V6's have better mileage - but not always).

Answer

In many cases a full size SUV is underpowered with a V6 which makes the engine have to work hard and can make mileage worse. So a V8 when driven exactly the same can get better mileage and has surplus power if you choose to use it. Check the est. MPG when comparing you may be surprised.

Are fumes from steam pushed through polyester sewer pipes toxic when inhaled?

I would think it depends on exactly what type of pipe, how much, what kind of and how hot the steam you are referring to is, and what level of exposure the person has to these, over time. I know from reading about it that the resin-permeated felt liners used as CIPP pipe, for repairs, at certain levels, certainly can be toxic using steam at too high a temperature over time.

PVC pipe does off-gas or leach out chemicals when used under certain conditions. Polyethylene pipe does, too. PEs and PEx pipe, I do not know. And, whether or not if it does, it is at levels considered toxic or unsafe, I also do not know.

Contact a local university with a good materials science research and engineering department and lab, your county health department, state EPA office, or a pipe or steam fitters specialty construction or supply house, for more information specific to your question.
