Current Porsches cost between about US$45,000 and US$190,000. The Cayenne (SUV) comes at a base price of just under US$45,000. The 911 GT2 (sports car) has a base price of just over US$190,000.
I ported my Porsche 928s4 1987, I got a special double cut porting tool from a company in Britain which was specifically made for use on alloy material. You should find it on ebay easily enough. I would make sure you get more than one cutting tool to remove minor portions of material and larger when needed. When you do port the alloy intake manifold, take your time. Something I am currently considering is to have a teflon coating inside, this will increase the flow of the air through the manifold. One thing to take on board, is that if you increase the flow too much in one port as opposed to others you may upset the smooth engine characteristics you have. If you haven't done porting before, ensure you don't try and change the port design, rather smooth out the ports. Porsche went to a lot of trouble designing it and they have much more money and knowledge in this area than you or I. But in saying that, it is rather poorly cast the manifold so there is room to increase the air flow within the Manifold. Would have been much better done in a Engineering plastic as you can achieve very high standards of smooth castings. Any way hope this helps you make a good decision. If you really want a top job done, take it to an engineering shop which has a CNC milling machine which can remove exact quantities of material and who have a specific programme for the Porsche 928 s4 Heads. Take a big wallet though. ---- Cheers, John from Kapunda - AUSTRALIA
it sounds like the neutral safety switch is bad or out of adjustment. If they use one and I dont know the location if that is the case.
Because there is an electrical short within the
neutral safety switch that is interrupting the ignition. When you're in a gear other than the two referenced, there is no spark as a result. Car dies.
Depends upon the year and the audio system installed... Some of the round grilles pop off, and some screw off. It is really difficult to visually tell the difference, and you can break the grille if you do the wrong thing. I would suggest first trying to unscrew the grilles - standard lefty-loosey. It is possible, but not too likely that the grille will break if it is a pop-off version, while if you pry on a screw-off version, you WILL break it. If you do break the grille rim, you can repair it with electrical tape. Get some GOOD electrical tape, such as 3M 33 in the standard 3/4" width. Fit the edges of the ring together, then apply tape without stretching it, starting about four inches from the break. As you get to the break, start stretching the tape, keeping one edge on the edge of the flat part of the rim. Make a full turn while stretching the tape, then continue applying the tape while aligning the edges, but stop stretching the tape. Apply about six more inches without stretching it, then neatly cut it off. Roll the other edge of the tape down over the rolled rim as neatly as you can, then trim the excess tape. Properly done, the repair is almost invisible, and will last for a couple of years or more.
You can check your 1984 928 Porsche fuel pump with a diagnostic tester. You can also check the fuel pump by connecting the wires to a power source and see if the fuel pump operates.
No. Aftermarket tuners and Ruf automobile have used superchargers or 911(996) engines to add more power to the Porsche Boxsters.
For 1996-2007, it appears Ford settled on:

After having to purchase one today, I was told it is an odd size, but it's a 36R battery. Minimum cold crank must be 540.
I bought one today from local auto parts store and it was $69.99 + $10.00 for the core but they will give me the $10.00 back when I turn in my old battery to them. This is a 5-year warranty battery.
Called around and at Kragen an 84 month warranty battery is $89.99, and AutoZone is $79.99, but I forgot what the warranty was on that one.
AnswerRequires a 36R series, R meaning the battery is reversed, as compared to most other cars.
First you must disconnect the negative(-) pole, then disconnect the positive(+), connect the new battery begining with the positive(+) pole, then the negative one.
It depends on the engine size for starters. On your current battery there is a cold cranking amp output. You want to get at least the same or better. i would lean towards an interstate, diehard, or motorcraft battery.
1. Should be listed under "specifications" in your owner's manual. 2. Your parts store can look it up, sizes are standardized. Capacity within that size can vary widely. Generally the longer the warranty the better the battery (higher capacity) and the greater the cost. 3. Any Ford dealer should be able to tell you with a phone call too. 4. There should be a label on your present battery with the size and rating. Everstart, available Walmart is highly rated by Consumers Reports also

If your Porsche 924 wheels have an offset of 5x130 then yes they will fit.
Look in the back of your Owners manual about the size wheels your 924 can fit it tells you the offset or look on the inside of your 924 rim and see what the offset shows.
You can try googleing "timing belt replacement on porsche 928". When replacing you start at the crank gear, go under the oil pump gear, up around the drivers side cam gear, under the water pump pulley, up over the passenger side cam gear and then down thru the tensioner and back to the crank gear. The tensioner pulleys go on after the belt is routed.
When racing at Lemans, drivers had to run to their cars and it was faster to start the car with the left hand and engage first gear with the right hand.
Not so. This is a urban myth. Contrary to recent Media Porsche ads and YouTube videos, from the beginning of Porsche, AG in 1948, the ignition key was actually positioned to the right of the steering wheel (as opposed to the left on the production 356 coupes, and 900 series and other models) on ALL racing TYP 550/718/RS60-61/ 356 TYP 540s (Speedsters), and 904 GTS', specifically for a faster "LeMans start." The pit mechanics actually left the gear shifter engaged in 1st so the driver only had to turn the key clock-wise, pop the clutch, move his right hand onto the steering wheel, along with his left hand, while turning the car clock-wise out of the starting pit position, and down the front straight. Is this really true? Just ask the still-living Hans Herrmann, or Dan Gurney, or Joe Buzzetta, all whom were racing with the Porsche factory during those Golden years. Vroom, Vroooom! Release 4 straps and remove cover and filter. Remove 4 nuts under filter on inside bottom of housing. Housing will easily pull apart from 2 plastic air intake tubes. Slide housing up and off of Mass Air Flow sensor. Oak Park Bob
It is about 6 inches from the oil fill cap towards the right front headlight.
It is sitting under the radiator hose so you might have to gently push
the hose off to one side to see it. It has a yellow ring handle.
There is a cover at the bottom of the fuel tank. It is located under the cover. It is in different locations depending on the year of the car.
Disconnect it. If it runs the same or better, have it rebuilt $200 from Python Injection, out of California. Borrowing another one would be best.
There normally is a fuse in most vehicles for the dashboard lamps. The location depends on the specific vehicle. The fuse cavity is usually abbreviated as (inst) for instrument cluster or (IPL) for instrument panel lamps. There are usually two areas on most newer vehicles where the fuses are located. Inside the cabin they can be on the left or right ends of the dash panel or under the left side of the dash panel. There is another fuse block under the hood usually on the left or right inner fender panels and normally referred to as the power distribution center. Look at an owners manual for that particular car and it should guide you right to it
1983. before that it was the 924. 944 improved design was more appealing. body style was changed as well.
under a panel in the passenger side footwell. fuses and relays both.
First thing to check is the transmission fluid level. The 928 is very sensitive to tranny fluid levels. You will need to take it to a shop and get it up in the air as the level is checked through a site glass on the transmission. After that it could get expensive. If a transmission service has not been done for a while would be a good time to get one done.
