Some car companies tell you to replace the timing belt every 60k -100k miles, I would go by that. because there is really no way to check if the timing belt is bad because some simply snap, some may lose their teeth before they snap and this can cause major problems in itself, but you want to have the timing belt replaced before any of this happpens. so go by the recommended service interval for your car. It is an expensive part to replace because it is somewhat time-consuming, and you will want to replace the water pump and the other belts while you are in there.

The short answer is yes. But, it is very involved and lots of factory only parts will be needed, would probably be easier to buy a manual parts car and do the swap from it. However, to be blunt if you are asking this question it's more that likely out of your skill level.

Theres only 2 reasons a car wont start. No fuel or no spark. Check for fouled plugs, damaged distributor, broken spark leads, blocked fuel filter, blocked fuel lines or faulty injectors.

really? what drive shaft. its a shift tube for the trans. trans is in the rear of the car. its called a trans axle. trans shifts the cv joints which turns the wheels. so you never have to take down the shift tube for no reason theirs a long steel rod inside that tube. that comes from your shifter to the trans.

you see that radiator hose that has a larger end ? that larger end is the pump.not a easy fix and the timing belt and balence shaft belt are attached. special tools required. good luck.

Beacuse its so hot, it will overheat if the radiator fan doesn't run after the engine is turned off. It usually will stop itself after 5 mins.

There are two of them, and they are located on the clutch bell housing that is bolted to the rear of the motor. They are held down with 10mm bolts that can be accessed if you stand on the drivers side of the engine bay and feed an extension with a swivel down past the wiring on the firewall.

I use Mobil 1 10w30 works well with good quality filter.

because your fans arent working, which could be a faulty relay, fuse or faulty thermoswitch. on mine it was the relay which is expensive for a relay. if that isn't the problem try changing your thermostat.

never went to full even when new. No point in replacing the sending unit. It won't help.

theres a little plastic piece controlling the hot/cold flaps. unfortunately they break but can be found on ebay. im yet to fix mine but im workin on it...1988 944

yes, it is just a safety issue to use the relay which will shut the pump in case the engine stops running because of an accident. Make sure you use a fused power source.

5 quarts without a filter, 5 1/2 with.
