There are many answers to this question. Just some of the reasons are; maybe the country doesnt have any natural resources to make goods out of to sell. Maybe the country has a stupid or selfish or ignorant leader. Maybe the country has a religeon that doesn't value making money. Maybe they have no land that can grow food. Maybe they don't get enough water. Maybe they get too much water.

Most countries that are rich are countries that give more freedom to their citizens, letting them own property and allowing them to keep the results of their industry. Power equals Freedom. The more Power the government has, the less freedom the citizens have.

Also the more Capitalistic a country is, the richer it tends to be. Capitalism is a good thing as long as it is tempered with respect for our fellow man.

According to the Health and Human Services official government website, the average federal poverty guidelines for one individual is between $11,000 and $14,000 for 2013. The average guideline for two individuals is between $15,000 and $19,500.

The poor rural people cut jungle woods to be used as fuel for their livlihood. This impacts a lot on global environment and is one of the reasons for drought/flood in various countries beyond standardized norms.

You can reduce poverty by donating money and helping the people in poverty get good medicine, good food and a better life. Also you can join the the United Nation and help them help the people who are suffering.you can also set up fund raiseres for money to be donated to the poor

If people receive a decent education they will obtain the qualifications that they need to go on to further education such as university and into the workplace. Education will improve literacy and numeracy skills which again will benefit people when applying for jobs. Furthermore, education will lead to well paid jobs which will then allow you to afford a nice house, car, holidays etc and you'll "escape" from poverty.

The "poverty line" is the level of income that separates the people who live in poverty from everyone else. It is not an official line and no specific income has been established as the "poverty line". It is an expression used in conversation to replace the lengthy expression "the level of income that separates poor people from people who are not poor".

According to NetAid, over a billion people, or roughly one in six, live in extreme poverty. Extreme poverty is defined as living on less than US$1 a day. The World Bank goes on to define moderate poverty as basic subsistence living, on $1 to $2 a day. The Human Poverty Index (HPI) is used by the United Nations to indicate the standard of living in a specific country. It was first launched in 1990. It measures the amount of deprivation people experience in different countries. According to the measurements of deprivations countries are then ranked according to their HPI. Every year the UN publishes a list of countries, which rank the countries according to their HPI. This list shows which countries has the highest to lowest standards of living. Factors which are taken into consideration when ranking countries include: The probability at birth of not surviving to age 60, People lacking functional literacy skills, Long-term unemployment, and Population below 50% of median income. According to the 2009 list Norway is ranked number 1, followed by Australia, Iceland, Canada, Ireland, Netherlands, Sweden, France, Switzerland and Japan. The 10 lowest ranked countries are Guinea-Bissau, Burundi, Chad, Congo, Burkina Faso, Mali, Central African Republic, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan and Niger.

Its all about giving them food, sitting down and talking with them, helping out at some of the homeless hostels like the Salvation Army will do a great deal of help but most of all. Give them a few pounds so they can get a meal.

Well, I think one will be lack of many kinds of things, especially, health caring when one is in a bad condition of money. One can not make a well preparation for one's live without any properties.!!

Some people don't care about poor people because of many different reasons. Most of the people who don't care about the poor believe they're too "high and mighty" for the poor and may just flat out not care about the poor and see them as "savages". Other people don't care about the poor because they don't know what it is like to be poor.

Poverty is a "relative" term and commonly referred to the material sense, in the case of Sabah.

Sabah is actually rich (culture, raw materials, etc). But, because the distribution of these richness is not efficient, you would have your "poverty". Efficiency is low because the information that is needed to manage those richness has not been understood.
