As far as I am aware, Mohammed said little on the subject of a Jewish homeland or Jewish control of what was then termed Palaestina and is now Israel/Palestine. When he died Islam had not yet conquered the Levant and it would have to wait until the Caliphate of Omar for the territory to come under Muslim control. With the exception of a few Jewish tribes that ended up opposite of Mohammed during his wars in Arabia, most Jews received Islam well and thought kindly of their conquerors (since they were less barbaric than their former masters).

Since there was no aspiration of Jewish Nationalism since the failure of the Bar Kochba Revolts nearly 500 years earlier, the idea of a Jewish Nationaist Revolt that could upset Islamic expansion was also unrealistic and did not need addressing. However, several Qur'anic verses recall the Promise made by God to the Jewish people concerning Israel such as Qur'an 5:20-21 and it would stand to reason that Mohammed may even have endorsed an autonomous Jewish territory within the future Islamic Caliphate in accordance with God's will. (Of course, it may also have been that his fury with Banu Qurayza may have left him unwilling to concede power to Jews again, but this is all guesswork.)

Also, when Abraham obeyed God by offering his son, Isaac, as a sacrifice (also mentioned in Hebrews 11:17–19), it is seen as a prophetic foreshadow of the promise of the Lamb of God (Jesus) sacrificed for us.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) believe that God calls prophets to lead His people today just as He did in ancient times. Prophets are essential to having the proper priesthood authority and keys upon the earth in order for the church of Jesus Christ to function correctly.

The prophet's role is to be the mortal head of the Church (Jesus Christ being the true head). He recieves revelation from God in behalf of the church or the world as a whole, and then delivers this revelation to the people. This revelation is counsel, warning, or reminders that God wishes His people to hear. The prophet's role is NOT to direct individuals or small groups except in the case of appointments to leadership positions or mission locations within the church. Mormons do not see the prophet as a 'go between' or 'mediator' between God and man. The Church's official topics and background site says this about the prophet: "Belief in prophets and apostles at the head of the Church does not mean that members blindly follow their leaders. While the prophet of God receives revelation and inspiration to guide the Church as a whole, revelation flows at every level, including to the leaders of congregations and to individual families and members. In fact, individual members are expected to seek that kind of divine guidance to help them in their own lives, in their responsibilities in the Church and even in temporal pursuits, including their occupations. Members are also expected to prayerfully seek their own "testimony" or conviction of the principles their leaders teach them."

One purpose of Old Testament prophecy was to foretell the arrival of the Messiah or Redeemer. A second purpose was to show the rewards for those who obeyed God's laws. At the same time, it was to show the punishments of the disobedient.

A good question my friend and one that deserves some form of answer. Before anyone is called to be a prophet they must be wise in the ways of the Lord (God if you so choose). They must have reached an age where they have proved themselves worthy of such a high calling. All prophetess in scripture have been mature females i.e Deborah and Miriam. True there were or are some girls who do have a knowledge of the gospel, but to have the wisdom to warrent revelation from God to speak on His behalf is left to those who understand the importance of such a calling. Girls, though knowledgable in the gospel oftimes lack understanding, this comes with maturity.
