The fan is probably an electric fan and is independent of the thermostat. The thermostat regulates the amount of water being allowed to run through the engine to maintain a constant temperature. The fan pulls the heat out of the water that flows though the radiator. Related but not connected.

There is a fan sensor that tells it when to come on and when to shut off. I don't know where it is, but it's there somewhere. Check that and check to see if there is power to the fan. Might be a blown fuse.

It sure is. Leaking radiator fluid only causes the coolant system to de-pressurize and not effectively cooling all the internal working engine parts. This is a method shown to me by a radiator repairman years ago and has served me well. One can be easily baffled by test instrument companies but this simply tried and true method works for most cars (including full size passenger cars from the old school category). Adequate coolant flow through this type radiator core can be gauged very simply with the radiator in the car. Drain the coolant from the radiator (cool engine) then disconnect the bottom radiator hose from the radiator. Using clean and suitable water flowing through a 3/4 inch hose at 80 psi nominal/ 14-16 gallons per minute, insert the water hose into the fill neck of the radiator. The water should flow freely out the bottom of the radiator.

You might want to get under the vehicle and inspect the bottom part of the engine. CAUTION: Be sure and block all wheels to keep vehicle from rolling over you.

The reason for any relay is to have lower power to the control circuit. If you tried to run the fan directly from the electronic control module there would be either insufficient power to run the fan or you would damage the ECM by drawing too much power and overheating it.

if it,s in the furnace, look for a drain pan under the coils, there should be a drain hose comming from it. cold water grows a mold , the drain is pluged, use a pipe cleaner, or a thin bottle brush to open it, put a small amount of bleach in to the drain pan, check at an air conditiong place they sell a tablet that will inhibit mold groth, or at a pool supply buy some clorine tablets, small ones. place 1 or 2 in pan a month,

You as a homeowner SHOULD have the right to work on your A/C, but refrigerant laws today say you need to be certified for using the gases used to charge these units. Unfortunately the answer is no. You would need to purchase the gauges required and have a working knowledge of refrigerant systems to charge your unit to it's requirements. You would also have to purchase the correct gas used for your system whether it's R22 or other. Sorry, but unless you know someone capable, call out a serviceman or you can get expert advice to solve this error. But you don't take any risk.

The switch can directly run a motor or it may be connected to a relay. If the contacts of the temperature sensor switch become damaged they can weld together and the switch will stay on constantly.
