To make a 3D stingray:
1. Know the basic shape of the stingray and what are the best materials to use.
2. Make a frame out of wire (chicken wire will also do).
3. Stuff the hollow frame with newspaper.
4. For the next bit you can use either papier maiche or clay. If you are to use:
Papier Maiche - Rip up the newspaper into short strips. Gently soak the strips in water mixed with glue. you should end up with a sticky, watery solution. Carefully place the Papier Maiche onto the frame and let it completely dry. When dry do the same again until you are happy with how hard it is.
Clay - Cover the frame completely with clay leaving a smooth finish. Let the clay dry. There should be NO gaps at this stage. If there is it will upset the finished product.
5. Paint the stingray in the appropriate colours.
6. When all is dry and you are happy with the colours carefully varnish it, leaving that slimy, undersea look.
