It seems that they can do MRI without injecting contrast agents read the article below, this is part of a Wikipedia entry To see it all go to the related link(Magnetic resonance imaging) below.
The body is largely composed of water molecules which each contain two hydrogen nuclei or protons. When a person goes inside the powerful magnetic field of the scanner, the magnetic moments of these protons align with the direction of the field.
A radio frequency electromagnetic field is then briefly turned on, causing the protons to alter their alignment relative to the field. When this field is turned off the protons return to the original magnetization alignment. These alignment changes create a signal which can be detected by the scanner. The frequency at which the protons resonate depends on the strength of the magnetic field. The position of protons in the body can be determined by applying additional magnetic fields during the scan which allows an image of the body to be built up. These are created by turning gradient coils on and off which creates the knocking sounds heard during an MR scan.
Diseased tissue, such as tumors, can be detected because the protons in different tissues return to their equilibrium state at different rates. By changing the parameters on the scanner this effect is used to create contrast between different types of body tissue.
Contrast agents may be injected intravenously to enhance the appearance of blood vessels, tumors or inflammation. Contrast agents may also be directly injected into a joint in the case of arthrograms, MR images of joints. Unlike CT, MRI uses no ionizing radiation and is generally a very safe procedure. Patients with some metal implants, cochlear implants, and cardiac pacemakers are prevented from having an MRI scan due to effects of the strong magnetic field and powerful radio frequency pulses.
MRI is used to image every part of the body, and is particularly useful for neurological conditions, for disorders of the muscles and joints, for evaluating tumors, and for showing abnormalities in the heart and blood vessels.
Can a blood test for Rheumatoid Arthritis show up fybromyalgia?
From what I have found on it No. However there is a reasonable lot of info available on it in wikipedia if yo follow the related link below.
Can a pet scan detect rheumatoid arthritis?
Yes.A PET Scan (or Positron Emission Tomography) Is a way of finding the most active areas in the body. the parts of the body that require the most energy use the most sugar, also referred to glucose). A PET scan uses a special material that imitates the sugar, and this is taken up by the cells in the area of activity. This material called a tracer has a small radioactive component attached to it. The images created as a result of PET scans are based on the detection of radiation from the emission of positrons (positively charged electrons) from the radioactive tracer. The subsequent images created are used to evaluate a variety of diseases, with the most common use being whole body imaging of cancer. Rheumatoid arthritis will be seen in a pet scan, However a pet scan will not tell you that it is RA that you are looking at. It will tell you that there is an area of high activity. At this stage the only way to be sure that you have RA is by recognising the symptoms and monitoring inflammation and any specific damage that may be done to various joints. through imaging such as Xray.
How many rheumatoid arthritis patients in the Philippines?
There is no relevant data available on RA in the Philippine's. However about 1% of the world wide population suffers from RA and that seems to be a pretty evenly distributed in any country or race of people. 3 out of 4 people that have RA are women and the general age of onset of the disease is at about 35 to 40 years of age. however this disease can present itself in very Young children as well.
Is tumeric Rheumatoid factor positive cure?
So far as is known there is no cure for Rheumatoid arthritis at this stage. I suffer from the disease and quite often use tumeric in my diet, I have noticed no reduction in symptoms as a result. I will however keep an eye on it now that the possibility has been put forward.
My girlfriend's Mum has quite severe Rheumatoid arthritis What are the chances odds she will get it?
RA can be and often is passed on geneticaly Lifestyle has nothing to do with th onset of the disease. it is more likely to present in females then in males, the odds are there however I suffer from the disease and I am a male none of my brothers or my sister however have a problem with it.
How long does it take Rheumatoid Vasculitis skin ulcer to develop?
Rheumatoid Vasculitis is most likely to occur in people that have suffered from severe RA for at 10 years.
Rheumatoid Vasculitis (RV) happens with of longstanding, severe rheumatoid arthritis. The active vasculitis associated with rheumatoid disease occurs in about 1% of this patient population.
People with vasculitis usually have many joints with pain and swelling, rheumatoid nodules, high concentrations of rheumatoid factor.
List of nightshade vegetables?
potatoes (not sweet potatoes)
tomatoes
eggplant
sweet and hot peppers (including paprika, cayenne pepper and Tabasco sauce)
ground cherries
tomatillos and tamarillos
garden huckleberry and naranjillas
pepinos and pimentos
The following should be included on the list:
Chile peppers (including the dried/ground varierty found in chili powder)
Cape gooseberry
Goji berry
Tobacco
Also note that based on the list above, many items should be avoided by those who have sensitivity to nightshades (those with arthritis and/or joint issues)
Examples:
ketchup
olives with pimentos
tomato sauce
potato chips
most Mexican food (due to the use of peppers, hot pepper sauce, tomatoes, etc.)
many Italian foods (due to the use of tomatoes)
How often does rheumatoid arthritis occur?
RA occurs i about 1to2% of the population and and is more prevalent in women then men.
What does a sedimentation rate of 45 mmhr mean?
The normal sedimentation rate (Westergren method) for males is 0-15 millimeters per hour, and for females is 0-20 millimetres per hour. The sedimentation rate can be slightly more elevated in the elderly and is much lower for children.
A sedimentation rate is raised when there is some sort of inflammation either as the result of infection or an autoimmune condition like Rheumatoid arthritis.
Is talapia bad for people with rhemetoid arthritis?
According to researchers of Wake Forest University School of Medicine, the popular fish - the farm-raised tilapia has less very low levels of the beneficial omega-3 fatty acids and very high levels of omega-6 fatty acids. The said combination is bad one, making tilapia not a good food for some people suffering from heart disease, arthritis, asthma and other allergic and auto-immune diseases (particularly vulnerable to an "exaggerated inflammatory response).
Can aspirin be taken daily to manage rheumatoid arthritis?
Aspirin was originally invented by Bayer to relieve the pain of Arthritis in his mother, however it is not a drug that is used to manage the disease. This is done with antiinflammatories and immune system suppressants at present.
Can a company discriminate against hiring a person if they have rheumatoid arthritis?
I don't exactly know what the laws are regarding this sort of thing, but if a company feels that a person has a disability that will interfere with their ability to do a job or show up for work and its reasonably founded then I think they can.
What will cause when Polymorphs ia 85 percentage in your blood?

Does Belladonna give relief for Rheumatoid Arthritis?
Herbal remedies promoted for the treatment of arthritis include, ginger, Chinese Thunder God Vine, willow bark extract, feverfew, cat's claw and stinging nettle. While there is some evidence that ginger and willow bark extract may relieve pain, these remedies contain chemicals that are similar to conventional nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory compounds (NSAIDs) like naproxen (Aleve) and ibuprofen (Advil). NSAIDs may cause inflammation of the stomach and intestines. Further, they can interfere with blood clotting and lead to fluid retention, causing problems for people with high blood pressure or heart failure. Chinese Thunder God Vine also relieves pain and inflammation, but chronic use may cause weakening of the immune system and bones (osteoporosis). (Source: American College of Rhematology. http://www.rheumatology.org/public/factsheets/herbal.asp)
The causes for RA which is an Autoimmune disease, are at present not known and this makes it impossible to predict who might suffer from it before they present with positive symptoms However there does seem to be a genetic link and women are more likely to get it then men. aside from that it all seems to be in the luck of the draw at the moment.
How are lysosomes involved in both rheumatoid arthritis and gout?
Lysomes are involved in the digestion of dead or damaged tissue during inflammation both diseases cause inflammation where the removal of tissue is required.
Rheumatoid arthritis is an ongoing disease and the key to treatment is control in other words. you are taking something that controls the inflammation that is damaging your joints and causing you pain. When the pain stops it is tempting to stop taking the medication, however the moment you do you are putting yourself in a position where inflammation can once again start and cause damage to joints and will keep on doing so until some time after you recommence your medication. I suggest you talk this over with your doctor as it may not be a good idea.
How can erythrocyte sedimentation rate be controlled if the esr is raised to 80?
ESR is a non specific test that is usually used to diagnose the presence of some medical conditions. Basically, it can tell if there is something wrong inside the body.. it is a useful marker to diagnose for conditions like
temporal arteritis,
rheumatoid artheritis,
cancer,
inflammatory diseases,
auto immune diseases,
pregnancy,
polycythemia,
trauma,
Anemia etc ...
and many more diseases. ]
There are factors that can affect the ESR rate and these factors include Sex, Age, Race ....
normal range for a
man is 0-15mm/hour
woman it is 0-30mm/hour
Newborn is 0-5mm/hour
These values are obtained after importing 3-5ml of blood into a westerngren tube and readings are take after 1 hour interval and 2 hours interval after that.
If your ESR is over 80 there is a possibility of presence of a serious health condition and you physician my have alarm bells ringing, if not... then consult another other physician .... identification of the underlyin problem which is causing the ESR rate to shoot up so high must be diagnosed and the disease must be identified in order to bring things back to normal.
Erythrocyte sedimentation rate is a non-specific test and is not diagnostic of any particular disease. It has a high sensitivity but low specificity.
If high ESR is encountered without any obvious reasons, patient should be reassured and the test repeated after a reasonable amount of time (a couple of months). There is no need to extensively search for an occult disease without repeating it again.

Hope this helped...
