In other words: Rod Stewart's immense success has been partly because of his singing and performing, but also partly because of his 'sex-appeal' to many. Whereas, Elton John has been the great success that he is, all because of his musical skills (singing, piano playing and performing). In my opinion, the 'bigger' hit is the person who is most successful because of his/her talent and expertise, and not because of any 'sexual attraction. All that having been said: I am a huge fan of both Elton John and Rod Stewart!
