How much of a dollar does salvation army give victims?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

According to Salvation Army's web page, they direct 85% of all donations directly to helping the needy, however, because it is officially a church, it is not required to give out any kind of actual financial statement publicly. Few realize that it owns $75 Million dollars worth of real estate in Florida alone, or that it's CEO receives an annual salary in excess of $150,000 and lives rent free in a home provided by The Salvation Army. The SA's ordained clergy are all provided homes that measure up to 3,000 square feet.

How do I get my salvation back?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The first step in knowing Christ is realizing that you are lost and have sinned against God, the Bible says in Romans 3:23 that ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God, this means that no one is good enough to get to heaven on their own. It can't be obtained by works, or church attendance, or baptism, Jesus is the ONLY way. It says in John 14:6 that He is the way,

the truth, and the life and no one comes unto the Father but by him.

Once you realize that you are lost, you have to realize the punishment for your sins. It says in Romans 6:23a, "For the wages of sin is death.."- That means that you must die and spend eternity in hell for your sins, this may sound depressing but the verse goes on to say, "but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."- You may wonder why we have to ask Jesus into our hearts, what makes him so special? Well, because Jesus was perfect,- it says in 2 Corinthians 5:21 that "he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."-, he was the only one that was suitable to die in our place. So, you see, through Jesus' death, you can live forever in a place called heaven. Pretty cool that someone loves you that much, huh?

Now you have a choice to make, you can either accept the gift of God (salvation) or reject it. Remember Romans 5:8 which says, "But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Though none of us deserve him, he still came to die, and even if you were the only person on the planet, he still would have come and died on the cross for you. If you want to accept Jesus as the Lord of your life, you could pray a prayer similar to this: Dear Lord, Thank you for sending your only Son to die for my sins. Please forgive me of my sins and come into my heart. I know that I cannot get to Heaven by good works so I need Jesus to save me. Help me to be like you, in Jesus' name. Amen.

AnswerEasy, just ask Jesus into your heart and to be the Lord of your life. Admit you are a sinner and ask Him to forgive all your sins. He will wash you clean. Some individuals go through a lengthy prayer, but its really easy. He knows your heart. If you are sincere, he will save you, and call you one of His own. However, you really should get in contact with a Bible believing church for further instruction as to where to go from here (the point of salvation). AnswerBy believing in Jesus Christ...and accepting him as your Lord and Savior. Answer Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God".

1 John chapter 1 from verses 8 says, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us".

Verses 9 say "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness".

Verses:10 "If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us".

Sin placed all mankind in darkness of true life and the purpose of our journey to this earth is to find our way back to God and in God operate as spirit beings in reality of life. God allowed our existence on this earth for regeneration purposes and unless a spirit is fully regenerated at the expiry of time, such spirit will perish forever in the bottomless pits of hell. Regeneration takes place through what is called remissions of sins and remission is only possible through perfect sacrifice. Hebrews chapter 9 verses 22 say "And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission".

God is a perfect God and as a God of excellence and perfection, He will only accept a perfect sacrifice for the remissions of our sins. The whole essence of this sacrifice is to give us a new birth that is sin free to enable us dwell in His eternal life presence now and forevermore. In the gospel of John chapter 3 verses 3 Christ in his conversations about the kingdom of God with a Pharisee called Nicodemus said: "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God". In same chapter verses 5 he said "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God". What this is effectively talking about is regeneration of our spirits and we need regeneration to see and enter God's kingdom to be able to abide in His eternal life presence forever. A spirit that is not perfect in the eyes of God and free from sins cannot dwell in the presence of the Holy God let alone abide in His perfect kingdom forever.

God as a Spirit is a Holy Spirit and as the Holy Spirit of life, love. As love, God did not create us for religious purposes but for an eternal life peaceful relationship with Him. We have this relationship with Him through His own line of covenant and whosoever follows the correct line of covenant will find Jesus at the end of the line waiting to release them from death and place them in the presence of the eternal living God. God loves us so much to the extent that He does not wish for us to perish in darkness of hell. His real intention for us is salvation of our souls through His forgiveness of our sins. The first to sin before the first Adam sinned was Satan and some other rebellious angels and God banished them to hell for their rebellious ways. The sin of the first Adam led man into the same prison yard as the fallen angels however whereas they can never again find God's forgiveness, God made it possible for us to have His forgiveness through His perfect remissions sacrifice for our sins. God's remissions sacrifice for our sins is Christ Jesus and Christ as God's perfect sacrifice for remissions is the only way to redemption from sins and through redemption salvation of our souls from eternal prison of hell. The fallen angels knows very well that the only way to find salvation and redemption from sins is through Christ and as such the one thing they never want any man to believe in is that Christ is the Son of God and as true Son of God the last Adam through which we can all find redemption and salvation.

Throughout the era of time the principalities fallen angels have been busy deceiving mankind to deny mankind the benefit of God's salvation and unless a person shut their natural eyes and begin to seek for answers in the supernatural they will perish in sin forever. Natural life is not real life and our purpose here is to find our way to the real life, which is of the supernatural. In gospel of John chapter 14 verses 6 Jesus said " I am the way, the truth, and the life: no one comes unto the Father, but by me". Jesus as the perfect sacrifice is the way, the truth and the life because Christ is word and as word dwells in the Father and is the same as the Father.

Gospel of John chapter 1 verses 1 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" Verses 14 of same chapter says "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth". God is Word and He created everything with His word. God as Word gave us Christ as His Word to create us anew and to perfect our souls and spirits for eternal life abiding with His perfect Holy Spirit. God giving us Christ is evidence of His love for us and if we accept Christ as God's remission sacrifice for us, we show unto God that we appreciate His undying love for us. Gospel of John chapter 3 Verses 16 says "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life".

No one can redeem himself from sin hence God Himself had to do it for us. As such, we have salvation not by our own power but by God's grace and God's grace manifested to us is Jesus. The principalities fallen angels knowing that man has the benefit of the salvation they will never have, hates mankind with a passion. As a result, their main goal and objective in time era is to deceive man by focusing man's attention on the natural world so that man does not have any spiritual insight to be able to acquire benefit of salvation. Thanks be to God who out of His love for us not only gave us Christ as his perfect remission sacrifice but also made way for the gospel to spread across the world for the benefit of salvation of our souls. The gospel is called the Good News because it is the news of salvation our spirits needs to hear to journey from darkness to everlasting light.

The Good News of the gospel is that God has done everything necessarily required to redeem our souls from sins and all He wants us to do is to repent and seek His forgiveness with a sober spiritual heart and mind.

Romans chapter 10: from verses 9 says.

10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10:10 For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

10:11 For the scripture saith, Whoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.

10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

What does this all mean?

1. It means you must first believe from your heart that Jesus as the Son of God is the way, the truth and the life.

2. Secondly, based upon your believe you must willingly repent from your sins, confess Christ as your personal Lord and saviour and invite him to enter your heart and make you a new creature that is free from sin and thereby perfect in the eyes of God.

It follows from this that the first thing you need to do to begin your eternal life journey is to confess Christ as your personal Lord and saviour and invite Him into your life so that He can make you perfect for eternal life relationship with the Almighty creator uncreated.

You make this confession by saying this simple prayer:

"Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner and I ask you today to forgive me all of my sins. I confess you today as my personal Lord and savior and I invite you to come into my life right now and make me a new creature for eternal life abiding with God the head and the creator of all spirits now and forevermore".

If you have said this prayer from your heart, Jesus will surely come inside of you today because Jesus as life is not dead but alive forever and as the bible says whosoever confesses Him as their personal Lord and saviour will be saved. Confessing Christ as your personal Lord and saviour is equivalent to you saying you want nothing further to do with the realm of darkness and as a result be rest assured that the fallen angels of the darkness realm will try you to discourage you from holding on to Christ as the truth to the end. Christ is fully aware that their wicked intentions and desperate desire is to keep you locked up in darkness in order to enslave you in an abusive relationship with them hence He does not expect you to rise above your trials on your own but that you overcome it all with Him in you. Gospel of John chapter 16:33 says, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulations: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world". What Christ is saying to you here is that in Him, you have already overcome the world which means no matter what you go through in the world, you will remain an overcomer as long as you remain in Him.

If you have truly confessed Christ and believe Him in your heart, He will continue to abide with you in all of your trials and from inside of you, He will reform, enable and empower you in all realms and dominion and you will remain victorious forever in Him. Christ is as the living Son of God is the truth and as the truth the only way for you to have eternal life relationship with the one true God. Your confessing Christ is your first step, the next step is to always persevere in your trials and no matter what the case might be, always hold on to Him for He is the only one that can make you perfect and enable you dwell in the Holy presence of God the creator of heaven and earth now and forevermore.

I pray that God the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost leads and direct you from now on to do the right things. I also pray that the Lord Almighty enables you to complete your life journey successfully and at the end of your journey. I pray that God affords you the entire benefit of salvation which is everlasting life full of peace, rest and joy in His eternal kingdom of light.

What is the slogan of the Salvation Army?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

There a various slogans that The Salvation Army has used. "Blood and Fire" is an early one. This refers to Scripture and the Blood of Jesus, and the Fire of The Holy Spirit.

Another is "Where their is need there is The Salvation Army" The Founder, William Booth saw that there was no point in, for example, preaching "Do not steal" to people that were so poor that the only way that they could survive was to steal to get food. Hence the very full Social support services that the Salvation Army provides.

The Salvation Army is an international Christian Church working in over 115 countries worldwide. The International Head of the Salvation Army is the General, who is elected by the Salvation Army Leaders who hold the rank of Full Colonel or Commissioner. The persons holding these officer ranks are fully ordanied and commissioned ministers of religion in the Salvation Army. The election of the General takes place at a meeting of these Leaders at Sunbury court, near London, called the High Council. The high Council prayerfully considers who will be the best person to lead the Army, spiritually and practically over the next five years. Delegates nominate condidates and votes are cast in a variety of processes. Each country, or territory wher the Salvation Army is at work has a territorial commander responsible for the spiritual leadership and direction of the Army in that part of the world. They are accountable to the General. The Salvation Army on a day to day basis is run by its ordained ministers or officers it emplys thousands of people around the world as 'lay staff' to support and run its social welfare programmes and heavily relies on volunteers.

What religious tradition do salvation army belong to?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The Salvation Army is a church denomination of true evangelical tradition. The Army does not practise sacramental worship (including baptism or Holy Communion) but is an orthodox denomination of the Christian Church as they hold in their beliefs the Trinitarian God, and accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour. In worship they sing, play (the SA band is famous!) pray and study the scriptures. It is fair to say that the Salvation Army is one of the few Christian organisations who put agape love of their fellow humans above religious and pious trappings. Their missions to the homeless, oppressed, drug addict, alcoholic and so on are well known. In short, they are admirable Christians who, rather than lock themselves away in an ivory tower of prayer, prefer, like Christ, to meet the needy where they are - in the streets, in the rehab hostel and in the bars. They are Christians who are not afraid to get their hands dirty. However, this woork is all underpinned by an atmosphere of prayer and Christian principle. Because of this work with what others may regard as the outcasts of society, Salvationists take an oath on membership - not to drink alcohol, not to smoke, not to take recreational drugs and not to gamble. This is not for any pious religious reason, but as their founder William Booth saw the effects that these activities could have on people (especially in Victorian England where the Army began) he expected his members to shun these activities so that their ministry to those affected by them could be more effective.

Can you lose your salvation?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

If you win salvation once, but then backslide in idol worship and loose your faith in god, you very well can loose your salvation.

This is a highly debated topic, but all evidence suggests that you can't. First off, to know if you can lose something you need to understand what that something is. Salvation is not earned by doing good works. To earn salvation through works you would have to be perfect, which we both know is impossible. Since God is merciful He decided to give us salvation as a free gift. Ephesians 2:8-9says, "For it is by grace that you have been saved through faith- and this not of yourselves, it is a gift from God- not by works, so that no one can boast." Now don't get me wrong, this doesn't mean everyone is saved, one has to accept the gift by truley believing that God is all powerful and that He sent His son to die for our sins; and then that son, Jesus Christ, rose from the dead. Romans 10:9 says "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." God does not decide that this person will be saved but that person won't, He lets us choose for oursleves; though He does know what we will choose. Now that we have established what salvation is and how it is obtained, I'll tell you why it is not possible to lose your salvation. As I said, salvation is a gift, and if God gives it to you, it's yours forever. It's not like some person can take something that God himself gave you, and considering God loves you enough to die for you (John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that who so ever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.") it is obvious that He won't do something like taking back a gift, which by definition is yours to keep. I have one more reason that I believe this. Everyone has hard times in their life when they begin to question the order of things, question the existence, question their reason to live. The absolute worst moment of my life was that one night a couple years ago that I remember so clearly.... I was angry at God and I didn't know what to do. I did not question His existence, I've seen how He affects things just as I see how leaves blow in the breeze, and I knew that He was real. I did not for a second question His existence, but that night I did question what I had previously come to believe about Him. I wondered if maybe He wasn't really good; I mean, if He's God then He decides what is right and what is wrong, so whose to say that He doesn't mess with us and break His own rules (I no longer believe this, and hopefully you'll see why in a moment). I was in a bad spot: I believed in God, but, though it pains me beyond belief to say it, I hated Him. I knew I didn't want to follow Satan, so I was really stuck. I decided that I no longer wanted to be a Christian, and I thought I may be able to undo that the same way I became a Christian. I decided to say, out loud and with my whole heart and soul in it, that I denounced God as my Saviour and Lord. Now, everything I've told you up to here can be debated, but what I'm about to tell you is something many of you won't believe, but you can't tell me it never happened, because I experienced it myself. I opened my mouth to denounce God verbaly, but I couldn't. You're probably thinking I mean that metaphorically, that I couldn't find the willpower; you're wrong. I was physically incapable of saying it! I tried to say, "God, you are no longer my God or Savior; I denounce my faith and refuse to follow you." But I couldn't say it. I couldn't verbally speak any of it. I could talk fine and everything, I had seconds before and I did seconds afterwards, but I was physically incapable of denouncing my faith. It is for this reason that I am confident in our salvation's permanance. I won't go into what happened after that, but I came back to God. You may be physically capable of saying, "that's not true," but the words have no meaning, because I know that they are. You might claim that it was all in my head, and that God isn't even real; but I have personally seen Him. Yes, I have literally seen Him, I have litterally felt His touch, and I have heard His voice (well, considering the way it reverberated through my entire body but no where else, feel may be a better description). If I told you that someone you have seen, touched, heard in a very physical way, someone you've loved more and differently than a family member, friend, or lover, would you believe me? In the same way you absolutly cannot tell me that God is not real, or that this did not happen. If you have any questions or there is something you're unclear on, feel free to send me a message.
