The Jews don't believe in "Satan" and depending on the denomination of Christianity, some will tell you he's the one causing all the trouble in the world, while others will tell you its the demons causing all the problems because Satan is actually chained up in Hell waiting for the day when God will set him free upon the earth as depicted in the book of Revelation, until he is cast into the pit of fire (yeah, the pit of fire and hell ARE different places) and destroyed.

If you fell strongly enough to follow a personal spiritual path, then you do not need to ask others for their opinions on your choice. One needs to have the strength of their own convictions to successfully follow any path.

If you do not feel strongly enough about your direction of spirituality, then you are not cutout for that path. If your spirituality can be shaken or changed by popular opinion then it really isn't "your" path.

Anton LaVey is an atheist. Not a satanist. If you read his satanic bible you will find that he doesnt believe in god or Satan. He used Satan as a symbol for mans carnal desires.

Spiritual/theistic satanists believe Satan and his demons are real. We worship them through meditation and rituals. We also believe that Satan is the true creator of this world and humanity and that god is the evil one. All true satanists are the nicest, most respectable people you will meet

A Satanist is opposed to the beliefs of Christians. It is like darkness and light, the one being opposite to the other. Though Satanists know that there is a God, for it was that same God who placed Satan in his present state, they will do all in their power to turn man away from God and become as miserable as themselves.

Satanism was first brought to the publics eye in 1966 by a man called Anton lavey. However there numerous sects before this but most stayed within the confines of a few people. Laveys church was the first to have any serious amount of numbers. There was also a devil worshipping religion in Northern Iraq called the Yzedis, though they more or less believed in keeping the devil happy so he would make sure nothing bad would happen them.

There could be various ways to classify this position. What is certain is that this is not a Christian position. To think that anything taught by the devil is true, then, according to Christian belief, a person has been deceived by the 'father of lies.' Practicing the Christian religion is more than just following ceremonies and outward religious acts, but is primarily a matter of a change of heart. Since the devil is held in evident esteem, then it is possible he has caused deception about what the real essence of Christian faith is also. Many people go to churches who are Christian in name only. Worship of the one true God, excludes, by definition all others.

I think rules 4, 7, and 11 are a bit harsh. The others are actually quite good guidelines for living a moral life.

As far as the bible goes, you are pretty much forbidden from following other religions even if it is only 11 laws. I was in this same position a few years ago, so I sought out help from a priest who pretty much said you cant be a christian and live by the rules set out by another religion. And it says as much in the bible also. So to stay true to your christian values your better off disregarding the Satanic statements, or consider a change in religion.

People get so worked up over what a symbol has been used for. At the end of the day, what matters is what the symbol genuinely means to you.

firstly, many countries have free religion and belief policies. Second, if you were a christian stepping into a satanist meeting, wouldn't you just want to be no part of it and not to get their thoughts into your mind? and last, we are taught by god to love our enemies and help them be saved... if we criticized them they would get more mad at christians.
But in general there is no criticism of it because it simply does not exist.

To offer a second opinion, I truly believe in God's purity and Satan's corruption, but I believe that the first user's response was at least in some areas invalid.
