No. This doesn't mean any properly cut key will work though. The computers in the car are sophisticated enough to tell which metals the key is made from. The car then compares the metallurgy of the key in the ignition to the file on the computer's memory. If they match, the car will start.

the fuel filter is located under the trunk, next to the fuel tank, it just takes the quick release tools to un hook the ends. it has three fuel lines on it.

As with all modern starters, the Saturn starter relay is attached to and an integral part of the starter motor.

To replace the power steering rack on a Saturn Ion, You must first dissmantle the current steering rack by accessing the main hood, and from there you can screw the new steering rack into place

The Saturn Ion was never flex fuel capable when it was being manufactured. The Saturn Ion is no longer being manufactured.

Saturn IONS with Manual Transmission usually will run up to 300k probably need a new clutch at 150k. Ions with an automatic transmission will usually need a new Tranny at 150k

Things to check are the batter, radiator, and oil. These items will keep a vehicle from starting if the temperature plunges, and they are not taken care of properly.

All you have to do is pull off the bezel...to do this grab the heater vents(put your fingers in between the louvers) and pull straight out. This releases the top tabs Then work your way down to the bottom pulling out the clips on the way Now the stereo is exposed and all you need is a 7/32...7mm socket to remove good luck...saturnguy

what fuse? bring it to the dealership or look at your manuel. theres 2 fuse boxes, should be 1 under the hood and 1 under drivers sidesteering wheel

The power strg unit is in the column yes....It is electric power strg. The steering rack remains the same

If you look at the intake manifold, it is to the immediate right of the manifold. You will see a nut on a cap. That cap covers the oil filter housing.

Depends what you mean by good. Performance? Reliability? Carrying capacity? Fuel economy? Pulling power with girls? Several other factors, doubtless.

Some GM vehicles have a sealed for life transmission and do not have a dip stick. Also if it is a manual transmission then it has no dipstick.

On the driver side of the vehicle, on the top of the transmission, there's a plastic yellow thing with a picture of a gear with liquid in it (indicating transmission fluid), that's your transmission dipstick. The only other yellow plastic piece that you can see is your oil dipstick. The tranny dipstick is bolted down with a 12 mm bolt that you'll have to remove. After removal of the bolt, just pull the dipstick straight out to check fluid level. The dipstick may be a bit harder to pull out than you imagine, but as long as you took that bolt off, it'll come out.

The transmission that's in your Saturn was not intended to be checked by the owner. The theory is that you'll check your fluid when it's not up to temp, think it's low, and add more, overfilling your transmission. However, I think most owners would prefer having a more easily accessible dipstick. Even if it's only to check the color of your tranny fluid. You should also make sure that the fluid doesn't have a burnt odor.

The tranny shouldn't need to have any fluid added to it unless you have a leaking transmission. However, you should have your transmission fluid and filter changed every 50K miles.

Other posts have suggested how to manually set the time. In my 2005 Ion 2, I have a button called 'RDS' - Radio Data System. If I can find a radio station which transmits some kind of text (ie the call letters or song name) I can hold the 'RCL' (timeset?) button and push the RDS button. It will attempt to read the time from the data stream and set the clock for you. Otherwise it will say something like 'No RDS time set'. I'm almost sure you need to tune a station with RDS - it won't scan them for you.

Also, you may want to wait a couple of minutes after tuning the station to let the head unit realize there is RDS available.

You don't. Saturn Ions don't use a hydraulic power steering system. They use an electric power steering system using a small electric motor to provide steering assistance. If you have any problems with the power steering, take it to a GM dealer. GM had many problems with it, so they extended the power steering warranty on all Saturn Ions, Chevy Cobalts, Chevy HHRs and Pontiac G5s to 10 years or 100,000 miles.
