How can you determine the model for a Marlin 12 gauge pump shotgun?

If your pump 12 ga. has an exposed hammer, it's most likely a model 1898, as all later models of exposed hammer Marlin shotguns had the model marked on the upper tang behind the trigger. If it is not an exposed hammer, then the model designation is on the bottom, where the receiver meets the mag tube.

Where can you get damascus shotgun barrels rebarreled so that you can shoot the gun?

It is possible that you might find a newer version of the same gun with fluid steel barrels that would swap, but I doubt it. You would probably have to have the barrels sleeved to a smaller gauge and the extractors modified. A good gunsmith with a full shop of tools should be able to do this. Check the yellow pages. The damascus barrels are not the only reason to be cautious about shooting an old gun, so a smith should check it out anyway. If this old scattergun is one of the top tier names, it MAY be worth the cost of any improvement, but if it is just an inexpensive Belgian import c. 1900, it would be cheaper to pick up a used Stevens double to shoot and hang the old lady over the mantle.

What is the model on a JC Higgins tri-barrel Its a double barrel shotgun side-by-side with either a 7mm or 9mm rifle barrel underneath?

This must be a rare bird. A few dreilings were made in the US by the Hollenbeck Gun Company (1905-1910) in Wheeling WV. Almost all the rest are from Germany. I have never heard of one being sold by Sears with the JC Higgins name. If you can post all the markings on the gun, including those under the barrels and those on the part of the receiver that are covered unless the barrels are removed, and a link to some photos, I might be able to help you ID it better.

Where is the serial on a Stevens double model 5100?

It won't have one since Stevens didn't serialize their inexpensive shotguns until the GCA of 1968 required it and the 5100 was made c. 1931-1941.

What is the value of a BC Miroku 12 gauge shotgun Sn 549996 or is this a Charles Daly Firearm?

I can't give you a clear answer if Miroku made the shotgun or not. However, may I offer a comment. Miroku has made shotguns for 150 years. From all I can gather, they are a high integrity organization and have made high quality guns for companies like Ithica, SKB,Weatherby,Charles Daly and Winchester. If you have a gun made by Miroku, I don't care what company has its name on it, you have a fine gun. Excellent design, fits and finishes. Durable and dependable. Sleek and good traditional looks. Good hunting.

Where can you find information about the Crescent New Empire hammerless 410 double barrel pistol or the Certified Shotgun and why are these illegal to own per the Blue Book?

I've researched this weapon and it only shows 5 known. The one I saw was serial number S20 and was for sale but had no papers. Everything I can find says these weapons are subject to seisure if not registered. It has also been called the "Auto Burglar Gun" and only has a 12 1/4 inch barrel. The blue book states the certified shotgun is subject to seisure but that statement is not included in the New Empire description. I am a licensed FFL and really wanted to buy this weapon for my collection but afraid to. I hope someone can tell me a lot more about this and if ok hope I can locate the fellow that had it again if it is legal to own. Didn't get his phone number or address so probably lost forever. Please help. If you have an FFL, you should be familiar with the National Firearms Act of 1934. This gun is not legal to own in the US unless it has the proper papers accompanying it and if registered, the BATF will investigate the purchaser before approving the transfer. The 1994 edition of the Standard Catalog of Firearms includes a request that anyone with a pre-1934 shotgun pistol, original factory records, advertisements, etc., contact a person who is researching these weapons. The address is given in the entry for the H&R HandiGun.

What is the value of a 12 gauge Model 94H single shot?

I hope you didn't read this before I deleted the smart alec who said it was worth $2000. A used single shot J. Stevens, no matter what model number, is worth something less than a new utility single shotgun. You can pick up a new NEF for $90 in any sporting goods store.

What is the value of a Iver Johnson revolver manufactured between February 10th and May 15th 1887?

Please tell me how you know exactly when it was made. Also tell me a bit more about it if you want to know the value. If it was made in 1887, it is most likely a spur-trigger .22 or .32 rimfire "bureau drawer special" valued between $25 and $125, depending on condition. It was on the butt of the gun * These will be patent dates, not manufacture dates. Will need more information to identify the model, then a description of the gun's condition to establish a value. However, the highest value given in a recent Standard Catalog of Firearms for any model Iver Johnson revolver in Excellent condition is $250 with most listing for $100-$150 in Good to Very Good condition. The first course of action to discern the value of a gun is to identify the make, model, manufacturing date, variation and condition. The book "Iver-Johnson Arms & Cycle Works Firearms 1871-1993" by W. Goforth, may help accomplish this. Then it's a simple matter of looking your gun up in one of the many firearm value books, such as the Blue Book of Gun Values, or the Standard Catalog of Firearms.

What is the value of a Sears model 200 20 gauge shotgun with a 3 inch chamber?

Sears never made a gun they had them made by some one else. it could be a spring field and a JC Higgins. and winchester. the value sholud be from 100 to 150 depending on the quaity. It's a Winchester 1200 Field Grade with the Sears name on it. Valued as much as $200 as a Winchester in 100% condition. With the Sears name in good used condition, maybe $100-$125. PS. Springfield and JC Higgins didn't make guns either. Just names used by other makers.

Value of a 1924 Ithaca flues double barrel average condition serial no s392662 16 gauge?

What's average? The Flues has some cracking problems that make collectors shy away. With mint bores and 80% finish you can figure 250

Who manufactured the Ranger 410 double barrel hammerless shotgun?

Made for Sears Roebuck by Stevens. There may be a model number on the right side of the receiver (most likely 5000, 5100, or 311) or a Sears product number on the barrel (101.6?) which could give an approximate date.
