What is the value of a 1915 Favorite single shot lever action 32 long?
There are several models of the Favorite, but very little difference in the Catalog values for most of them. If you know it was made in 1915, that narrows it down to the No. 14 1/2 Little Scout, No. 65 Little Krag, No. 12 Marksman, and No. 26 Crack Shot. And the .32 seems to rule out the first two of those from the reference I have at hand. All four are listed with a retail value of $125 in NRA Poor condition and $275 in Excellent condition. If it is a smoothbore version of the No. 26, it lists $25 higher in the top grade, the same in the lowest grade, and $25 less in the mid grades. Since there were over 1 Million of the various Favorites made (not counting the revival in 1971-72 and 1999), there are a lot of them available, but since they were inexpensive and usually a boy's first rifle, there are very few in top condition. To clarify the first answer: Although a lot of folks call all the Stevens boys' rifles a "Favorite," the Favorite is a specific model apart from the Crackshot, Little Scout, Marksman, etc.-- a totally different gun with the exception that the Favorite buttstock will also fit on the Visible Loader. You can find Favorites from less than $100 pretty well used to upwards of $300 in great condition. (The original Favorite with removable side plate is rare and in the thousands!) Some Favorites have the word "Favorite" on the rolling block, some don't. The model with the imprinted 1894 patent date has a leaf-type mainspring; the 1915 model (date on the upper tang) has a coil mainspring. All things being equal, the older model is more valuable, but condition ultimately determines price.
You likely have a Norinco. You could check their website, or marstar (a Canadian importer)
Where can you get information about a shotgun made by Mississippi Valley Arms?
Trade name sold by Shapleigh Hardware of St Louis. Manufacturers included W H Davenport Arms (1880-1910), Crescent Fire Arms (1893-1930), and J. Stevens Arms Co (1920-1940's).
The Little Scout Model 14-1/2 was made from 1911 to around 1941. It followed the Little Scout Model 14 (one-piece stock, 1906-1911). The lack of the Savage mark probably won't affect the value much. Condition is everything. I have about a dozen 14-1/2s and have paid as little as $75 to as much as $175, and I've seen really nice examples with asking prices exceeding $500; they never seem to sell at that elevated level. Most 14-1/2s on the auction boards go from $100 to $200. Any gunsmith with a lathe could turn a firing pin; the pin is simple and easy to replace. Some on-line parts sellers may have the pins, too, and you can replace it easily yourself by tapping out a small pin that holds it in place.
Where can you find the age of a Springfield Arms Co 22 model 53B?
The best way is to contact Springfield Arms, and speak with a rep, give them the serial # and model# and they will be able to look up a production date for you.
According to people who buy and sell, the older .410's are worth twice as much as the 12 gauges, so I'll say it could be $300 - $500. But they seem to stay on the shelf a long time when marked at that price.
The exact age I don't know but I have my grandfathers Ranger 102.35 in Sn: 21683K in excellent condition. I'm 69 Yrs. old, my grandfather let me fire it when I was just 9 Yrs. old. To the best of my knowledge he had the rifle for quite some time prior to my first shooting lesson. Extremely accurate. and Priceless..
I don't know what to tell you about the age other than it is probably form the 60's. They were made by Hi-Standard for Sears..... I have one and love it except ofr the vents on the left side of the receiver. Occasionally you get a puff of powder that exits right into your eyeballs. The triggers are a bit rough but can be smoothed out and they are very accurate......

The Model 25 was cataloged by Sears from late 1959 through early 1966.

What is the value of a 12 gauge Iver Johnson?
Iver Johnson started making shotguns in 1883 and didn't stop until 1987. There will be a lot of different 12 gauges in there and the value will depend on the age, model, and (most of all) condition. These were well-made and dependable guns but not the sort that collectors shell out big bucks for. Regardless of the model, unless it is like new it is unlikely to be worth more than $250. Conversely, unless it is broken or badly rusted, it should be worth at least $50.
What is the value of an older Savage 20 gauge shotgun that is labeled as a 12 gauge?
Firearms collectors don't pay a premium for "errors". Check Walmart or Gander Mount, etc., for the least expensive new 20 gauge of the same type (single shot, double barrel, bolt, action, etc.) and figure that your used gun is worth 1/2 to 2/3 as much, depending on its condition.
Who manufactured the Wards Western Field Deluxe 20 gauge double barrel?
Ithaca bought Lefever and that gun is the Lefever Nitro Special. My gun has a pointer on it and 2 ivory beads, one midway on barrel. Also my gun has a rosewood stock on it. Special made gun for somebody. Lefever gun had ducks flying over a marsh on receiver.
My understanding is that the first true gas operated automatic shotgun was sold by Sears & Roebuck in 1955 as the J.C. Higgins Model 60 and was manufactured by High Standard.

Where can you find information about guns from 1890 to 1910?
You can ask specific questions here. Your local library should have a copy of Flayderman's Guide to Antique American Firearms which covers everything up to 1900. Once you find it, look at all the other books on the same shelf.
What is the value and age of 12 ga. nitro hunter shotgun?
Nitro Hunter: Trade name manufactured by Crescent Firearms, Norwich, CT, and retailed by Belknap Hardware Company of Louisville, Kentucky. "Nitro" implies that it was intended for smokeless powder. Iit was probably manufactured c. 1907 - 1930's. Not much collector interest in hardware store guns, but if it is checked out by a qualified gunsmith, it may be worth $65-75 as a shooter.
The crown & scepter suggests British origin as does the name Patrick. If it is really percussion (muzzle loading) and not a breech loader with side hammers, it would date from after the invention of the percussion ignition system about 1832 to the general acceptance of the "modern" self-contained cartridges in the 1860's. The silver escutchion was for the original owner to have his name or initials engraved and is usually one sign of a "better" gun. Does it also have extensive engraving on the receiver and/or fine checkering on the wood? I have no information in my files for a maker named Patrick and my on-line source for data on UK manufacturers (internetgunclub.com) appears to be down.
When was a Chicopee Falls Mass Arms Co 12 gauge 30 single shot made?
patented Dec. 11. 1900 probably a Stevens model
AnswerThe date mentioned in the first response is indeed a J. Stevens patent. Shotgun Markings says that Massachusetts Arms single shotguns by Stevens were made "1920 and later". If that date does not belong with the gun in the original question, the REAL Massachusetts Arms Company made a few shotguns in Chicopee Falls between 1860 and 1893. These would have an unusual tip-up action and look a bit odd when compared to a modern single shot top-break.What is the value of a Riverside Arms 12 gauge shot gun?

What is the age of an Ithaca model 37 serial number 704515-2?
I am aware of no public listing of Model 37 manufacture dates, but IDSA Books publishes Ithaca Featherlight Repeaters. They're on the net. My info says 1957, but I have no clue what the -2 suffix means. The -2 suffix indicates barrel belonging to shotgun 704515
What is the value of a J.C.Higgins 16 gauge shotgun model 101.1?
I am going to assume that you have made a slight error in the model number. I think the model number you are referring to is 101.7. In 16 ga. I have seen this shotgun offered at $220 as a JC Higgins and up to $395 as a Stevens Model 311.
