Skunks

The size of a cat or smaller with long fur and bushy tails, skunks are easily identified by their distinctive black and white coloration. These near-sighted omnivores have a hearty appetite for grubs and insect pests, and have also been known to consume mice and small rats. They are members of the Mustelid family, which also includes weasels, martens, and badgers. Skunks are found throughout North America, with only one species found in Asia.

How long does it take for your OBD2 systems to reset?

It can be almost immediate depending on which monitor. The amount and specific monitors vary between autos. Some monitors will not run if there is a different monitor that fails. Typically, there is a drive cycle that must be performed for all of the monitors to set. This also varies from car to car. In most instances the cooling system and fuel temperature must be ambient or the same before beginning. Unless your car has a fuel temperature sensor, the drive cycle must start from a cold start. This can be a tough operation to perform and complete due to other traffic or speed limits or signals. If you are unable to follow it, all the monitors do not reset.

What animals taste bad to other animals?

This is a little broad, but I do see that you have it tagged under porcupines and lions. Well its not so much that porcupines taste bad they just have nasty spines so that predators will not bother it.

Usually animals with vibrant coloring tend to be bitter tasting and posinous. Such as some frog species and caterpillars.

What wild animal sprays odor like a skunk?

Zorilla - a small, carnivorous, nocturnal mammal, Ictonyx striatus, related to the weasel, but resembles the skunk in appearance and in its method of defense with a powerful odor, found in dry regions of Africa. It is also called striped weasel and striped polecat. It is closely related to the true European polecat ferret of Eurasia. The zorilla has thick fur with black and white markings, and a long, bushy tail. Its anal glands secrete a pungent fluid that can be ejected as a defense against predators.

Skunks best known for their ability to excrete a strong, foul-smelling odor, belong to the family Mephitidae. Skunks were formerly classified as a subfamily within the family Mustelidae, which includes weasels, otters, badgers, and relatives. However, recent genetic evidence suggests that the skunks are not as closely related to the mustelids as previously thought, and are now classified in their own family.

What is the lifecycle of a skunk?

Lifecycle * In February, breeding season begins, and lasts until the end of March. Males may stay with the female, but usually leave by April. In late April or early May, 61-69 days after mating, females deliver up to ten mouse-sized kits, but litters are usually five or six. Infants are born blind, deaf, and nearly naked, but the black and white color pattern shows. They weigh about 1 ounce. At 7 days of age, the infant skunks have doubled their weight to 2 ounces. At 2 weeks, infants are fully furred, and weigh about 41/2 ounces. At 17 to 21 days, the eyes and ears will open, and at the age of 1 month, kits weigh about 12 ounces and start walking. They are already able to stamp their feet and scold if angered - they may even try to assume the stance for spraying. Musk glands are about the size of peas. * In late June or July, kits are about 7 weeks old and are about 11/2 pounds. They will begin making excursions outside of the den with their mother. When 2 months old, infants will begin travelling with their mother, and are fully weaned. * By October, youngsters can be mistaken for adults, except for their smaller size. This is the time that skunks will prepare winter dens. Youngsters will share a den with their mother during the winter months. In warmer climates, skunks will stay active most of the winter. In colder areas, they will sleep through the coldest periods, but do not hibernate. Often skunks will use the same winter den as used the previous year.

Do skunks make good pets?

Yes, they do. If you have the skunk descented they are a very nice pet.

Answer

I think they do, but it matters a lot with the owner. The owner will need to be calm and patient and willing enough to take care of the skunk. You might need to take some long thought before you get a pet skunk.

I used to have a pet skunk. They make very good pets accept when they are babies they dont spray yet when they are older they will so you will have to get something taken out of them. when they are babies they need very rich milk normal milk is not rich enough and they will get sick they are very playful and cute!
