How does tobacco smoking affect someones breathing rate?
Nicotine and other chemicals in the smoke constrict blood vessels throughout the body. Blood and oxygen can't move as easily through narrowed blood vessels, increasing the likelihood of heart disease or stroke. The poor circulation can also make a smoker's fingers and hands cold.
When a smoker inhales cigarette smoke, these chemicals enter the bloodstream and reach the brain in less than 10 seconds. It takes only 15 to 20 seconds for nicotine to reach every part of a smoker's body. At this speed, the effects of tobacco are felt almost instantly.
it slows the flow of oxygen throughout the body.
Does smoking cigarettes cause gas?
I know that smokers have a higher waist to hip ratio. Smokers tend to have skinny legs, and fat deposits occure on the torso. This explains why smokers also have chances of heart disease, lung cancer...etc..... Toxins go where fat goes, and if fat is in the abdomen, the toxins will be also. With these toxins being so focused on our torso, it is no wonder why our health risks are all associated with our major organs....on the torso!!! Also...smoking affects the endoctrine system, which affects the thyroid function and everything, so this can also encourage weight retention in the abdomen.
On a personal note, I quit smoking, and I had to buy belts to hold my pants up. I even went out and bought new pants to fit my waist, and then....4 months later.....I started smoking again(about 2 months ago)!!! I tried on my new pants about 2 weeks ago, and I couldn't button them up!!! That is how much it affected me also. SO........quit....... reduce calorie intake by 200/day (cause that is what a smoker burns in calories just by smoking)....watch what you eat, and your waist WILL slim down!!!!
Hope I helped a little!!
First hand smoke VS. second hand smoke?
A review, published by the Journal of the American Medical Association, in 1992, found a link between the exposure to second hand tobacco smoke, and increased risk of heart disease death among persons who have never smoked. Furthermore, the review attributed 35,000 to 40,000 deaths per year in the United States to passive smoking. The experiments that Philip Morris tobacco company performed, in 1980s, to shed more light on the side effects of passive smoking proved that inhaled secondhand smoke is four times more toxic than firsthand smoke, a startling finding that tobacco companies deliberately hid from the people in order to protect their industry.

Because the smoker's lungs are smaller than normal person. The lung helps us breath so the smokers need to breath quickly when they walk.
Because less of the surface inside a smokers lungs is able to absorb the air that is necessary as result of being covered with tar and other chemicals that are left behind every time smoke is inhaled. Boy I'm glad I gave it up.

"Chaw" is just a southern or country way of saying chew. Chaw or chew usually comes in a seal able bag and has much larger size pieces of tobacco then dip or snuff. A "plug" of tobacco is just chew that has been compressed into a brick or solid chunk of tobacco that has to be broken or bitten off. It can also come in compressed sticks that have been twisted or braided together, commonly called a "twist". On a side note, snuff is the fine ground tobacco that you sniff up your nose. snuff is commonly confused with "fine cut". Fine cut tobacco is grainy like sand while snuff is a fine powder like dust. I believe, snuff originally catered towards women who wanted a tobacco habit without a nasty cigarette smell or constant spitting.

How do you hide the smell of tobacco smoke in your home?
Only smoke when you're around other smokers. (I have two close friends, one who smokes along with her whole family, and one who doesn't smoke but his parents do, as well as a smoking coworker, so my mom is used to me coming home smelling like cigarette smoke.)
Wash your hands. Even if you have the friends excuse to explain your clothes, your hands will smell like it and that's a lot harder to explain away.
Chew gum, use breath sprays, or brush your teeth if possible.
The best option is to try those new dissolvable tablets. Then there's no smoke to hide at all. :) And you're not killing your lungs that way.
Although I would highly suggest not smoking if you're underage. I'm of legal age myself, but don't let my mom know because she has enough stress in her life and I don't need her worrying about me.
DONT SMOKE IN THE FIRST PLACE, EVEN IF YOU ARE OVER AGE! Your friend is stupid, "smoking alsong with her family?" What the heck?

Smoking isn't good for your health.

If you are having to "hide it" then you shouldn't be doing it in the first place.
Ilovecatz1234:
Why hide smoking? One day, when you start dying or getting a disease, you will be sorry for ever smoking. I am right, you'll see.
