No, because a main part of addiction is denial and bargining. People often argue they're not addicted and give excuses. Some people can know and stop and some don't even, if they know. Depends on the individual but there is no like 1 smoke turning point where you say, hey I am addicted after that.

Not true...I quit smoking 3 weeks ago (without a single cig) and still have the sore throat. I've been to the doctor to make sure nothing else was wrong. It's different with everyone but my doctor assures me it will pass. If you are worried it has gone on for too long, go to your doctor as well.

It means, in other words, that they are multifactorial, that is, the result of the interaction of tens, hundreds, sometimes thousands of factors, either known or suspected contributors - of which smoking can be one.
