Who plays with an 11 softball?
Well many young girls start playing t-ball with boys. however as they move up to six and under there is coach pitch softball. Eight and under they can start to pitch themselves, then comes 10 and under, then 12, then 14, then 16, then up to 18. However many girls play on tournament team that go around the state, area, region, or nation. These girls are often the ones that play for their high school teams and can sometimes pick up scholarships to small community or junior colleges all the way up to major division 1 colleges. The best from college go on to play in a major league setting and hopefully play for team U.S.A., that is until it was taken out of the olympics.
How many innnings is there in an official softball game?
A normal softball game in the NCAA is seven innings. In order to meet the requirements for an official NCAA softball game, the game must finish five full innings if it has been stopped due to rain. This means that both the home and away teams must be both at bat and on the field five times. Another way for the game to become official is for the home team to be ahead by eight runs after five innings have been played.
What does a heavy ball vs a light ball mean in softball terms?
A heavy ball is a term for a ball with more weight on it. It's primarily used by pitchers during their workouts or warm-ups to help increase velocity. A light ball is just the opposite- a ball with less weight on it. This is also primarily used by pitchers during workouts to help them improve.
As usual scientific procedure evades everyone here. the pitch should be (should have been all along) measured from the time it leaves a pitchers hand to the time it crosses the plate. THAT WAY it can be measured from all distances from the plate (if you will) so measurements from a specific distance won't cloud the argument. AND the actual speed and decay of speed can be measured correctly. nobody has done this and if anyone has pitched 108 (Nolan Ryan) then it has to be in certain conditions condusive to less resistance of the ball. Oh gee, another factor, the baseball.... Are they using the same baseballs with the same materials, etc. as they did in the early Bob Feller years??? I doubt it. Well, the real answer will never be known will it... unless the measurements are taken as I have stated from now on will they? I'm sure technology can take old film and use the frame rates and calculate approximate speeds along with measurements taken in earlier days, but, i think those pitch speeds of the past will be lost forever.... to speculation and that good ole magic that surrounds baseball.... baseball lore eh?
Why is a softball pitcher important?

What terminology is used in rounders?
Rounders is an 1998 movie centering around the game of Poker. Examples of the terminology in the game of Texas Hold em include: "all in" (which means you are betting all of your chips) "Slow-rolling" (you are slowly showing a really good hand in order to trick your opponents into betting more) or "the nuts," (which means the best possible combination of cards in a given hand)
If the ball landed behind home plate, it is already a foul ball, even if it rolls back into fair territory.
If the batter already has 2 strikes and then the ball is bunted foul, it's an out.
The above answer is wrong. If a batted ball lands behind home plate but rolls forward and settles on the plate or in front of the plate, it is a fair ball.

Is Chicago style softball played with no gloves?
It is not played with gloves. It kept the cost of the game down so that everyone could afford to play,
Softball is played on a diamond shaped field, generally known as a baseball diamond. The ball is bigger than the one used in baseball, but softball uses the same positions: catcher, pitcher, 1st basemen, 2nd basemen, 3rd basemen, short stop, and 3 outfielders (center, left, and right). The catcher wears a lot of protection on their knees (legs), chest , and face, and wears a catcher's mitt. When the ball is pitched, the player up to bat hits the ball with the bat, runs to 1st base, but depending on the hit, may attempt to get to 2nd, 3rd, or home. If the ball is caught by a player on the opposing team before touching the ground, then the batter is out. A player is also out if a member of the opposing team steps on the base, which a player is running to, before that player gets there. In this case, the member of the opposing team must have the ball in his/her hand. However, if it is not a force (when a player must go to the next base because the batter behind them must take their base) then a player must be tagged (touched by the ball) by a player from the opposing team in order for the player to be considered out. Sliding (throwing one's body at the base, as opposed to just running to it) is only used for when tagging is necessary to get that player out. There are usually 7 innings (both teams at bat before 3 outs counts as 1 inning) with nine players on the field at once.
