Stalking

Stalking is the illegal activity of repeatedly directing unwanted attention to another person. It usually shows a mental or emotional problem in the stalker or criminal intent. Stalking can be following a person around, trying to talk to them or lingering outside their house, also threats or property damage. However, even sending messages or gifts to an unwilling recipient can be just as harassing and is also considered stalking.

If you don't want someone particular to see your profile, you can add them to your blocked list.

However, I have discovered a possible way to discover if someone has been visiting your profile.

If someone who is not in your network and is not friends with any of your friends, you can sometimes be able to tell.

Here's how: Say, you have a boyfriend who used to be friends with a girl a while back but never as a friend on facebook. Suddenly, she shows up as a friend suggestion on your facebook. She's not on any of your networks and you don't share any friends. The only way she'd show up on your suggestion list is if she visited your profile. While this is probably not failproof, it's an indication that they've been visiting your profile.

If you're friends with a friend of your stalker, or if you are in the same network, this won't work. The suggestion list is created from people in your network and friends of friends.

I only know this because it's happened to me.

What if someone is so dilusional they accuse you of stalking when in fact they are?

This is exactly what's happening to me. A certain person I call Relly says I stalk him on fb when in actual fact he stalks me. If he wasn't funny then I would get a restraining order. I'm in your predicament too so I guess we'll never have the answer. I'm contemplating faking my own death to get away. Sounds like a good planto me. Bazinga.

What does sweet pea mean as a term of endearment?

"sweat peas are sweet so when someone calls you that, they are calling you sweet!" Sweet peas are not sweet in fact they are poisonous, but they smell very sweet which is where they got their name. A lot of mothers call their child their sweet pea because they are small like peas, sweet and peas are held in a pod which is how the child looks wrapped up in a blanket like most parents do. If an adult is called a sweet pea it is in deed usually because they are very sweet.

I understand that you really like this boy, but why are you wasting your time on HIM? If he can't see what a great person you are, he isn't worth it. If this isn't treating you act like he doesn't matter to you anymore. He may realize that he cared about you or he could just be a jerk and not care. Good Luck!

What do you do if you are served with a stalking protective order and you do not dispute it?

A stalking protection order is there to protect the victim being stalked. If the stalker doesn't dispute this order, then they have to abide by what the protection order says. For example, the order may say: 'You are not allowed to contact this person'. Then the stalker has to follow this rule. By not following this rule, they are breaking the law.

There isn't really anything the person who received the order can do.

Is stalking a felony in the state on Virginia?

Stalking is defined in Virginia Code section 18.2-60.3. In that section, it states that a first violation is a Class 1 misdemeanor. A Class 1 misdemeanor carries a penalty of jail time not to exceed one year and a fine not to exceed $2,500. A third or subsequent conviction within five years of another conviction for this statute is a Class 6 felony. A Class 6 felony is punishable by between 1 and 5 years in jail, but the judge or jury may, at their discretion, decide to change the penalty to equal that of a Class 1 misdemeanor.

So the short answer is that stalking can be a felony, but only if the stalker is convicted on three or more occasions within a five year period.

P.S. You should be able to find a free copy of that code section online, and it may help you to do so. Stalking is defined as knowingly placing the victim in reasonable fear of death, sexual assault, or bodily injury. This may not have been what you thought stalking was, but even so, it's always good to actually check the words that the law uses.
