How do you fix the sunroof on a 2003 Sunfire if it opened and now the switch doesn't work and the sunroof will not close?

Most sunroofs will move manually.

you need to remove a cover to get to where the motor is and usually there is a hole to put a screwdriver or Allen key into to turn the motor manually.

If not just remove the motor and push the glass shut but doing this will mean you need to reset the motor before refitting it.

How to fix a sunroof motor?

If your question is how to replace the motor, I'd go to autozone.com for the basic procedure with diagrams. If the motor has gone bad and you want to repair it, you'll find parts hard to find unless you know an electric motor repairman.

How can you repair a leaking sunroof on a 1994 Saturn Sl2?

I pulled my hair out on this when it happened to me, I replaced the gasket, poured draino in the gutter and finally wound up taking it to the shop where they used an air gun to blow out the gutter drains. Look at the bottom of your car about 2 inches in from the door you will see what is called the pinch weld for the uni-body. This pinch weld is where the sunroof gutters drain to, 4 total, one on each corner of the sunroof. If one of these is damaged you will have to straighten it out as best you can to allow the water to drain properly. Good luck

How do you install a 120v 240v dryer in a 110v 220v home?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

You don't. A dryer is manufactured to run on 240 volts. By trying to run it in 120 volts the heating element will not get hot enough to dry the clothes. A typical dryer needs a 30 amp breaker at 240 volts equals 7200 watts. A step up transformer (120 to 240 volts ) rated at 7.2 Kw will cost as much as a new dryer. To run the dryer thuough the transformer the primary voltage of 120 volts would draw a current of 60 amps. A normal houshold receptacle has a capacity of 15 amps. The wire size for the primary connection to the transformer would be # 4 wire rated at 65 amps

<<>>

Luckily you're talking about a very simple machine that requires power for a heating element and a motor to rotate the drying cylinder. Any 2:1 transformer that can carry the POWER (Volts X Amps) will do the job. In today's global market, just about any respectable electrical store should be able to provide your needs in a simple stream-lined module.

Your dryer will have a plate that tells you it draws "X"amps. If it draws 10Amps at 220volts it is CONSUMING 2200 Watts (or 2.2Kw; 2.2 kilowatts). With this information your electrical retailer SHOULD be able to provide you with the appropriate STEPDOWN transformer.

What is wrong if the sunroof on your Volvo 960 is not leaking out of the drains but from the inside track?

Hi I just got my 97 960 , sun roof loked at it was leaking on both sides. I watched a guy do it that had years of experience. He is not always sure of were the water gets in . Seems like a lot of trial and error.

He cleaned off the seal around the glass with paper towel (the seal that looking from the top goes over the glass by a 1/2 " } . He had a piece of plastic {like a knife} and got it under the seal and blew any dirt out with compressed air. Then he used a caulking gun with a urathane cartridge in it {buy at the auto store for puting in windshields} and got the urathane under the seal all the way around. For any cleanup he squirted the excess urathane with a soppy water and ran a flat razor blade around the glass .Wipe off excess on per towel as you go. Also to check your drains there is a hole in each corner of the sun roof ,. Blow each hole with compressed air . At the front you should hear air at the bottom corner of each side of the wind shield. I didn't think it would work but it has rained yesterday and no leak !

Secondly when i shut the power sun roof , sometimes you can still hear the air sound so I have to bump the roof toggle switch to get a tight shut off. A Volvo mechanic showed me how to adjust it. There is an adjustment on each side of the sun roof .You can see it from insde the car on the sun roof linkage toward the back. Loosen off the small bolts on each side and push up on the glass.Tighten bolts back up.

Answersun roof has a tube at back of track which allow water to run off . this track if clogged will cause water to back up and run over side of track into car. better to put a vaccum tube on it than to blow thru which may clog it worse. J.R. good luck

What is the meaning of the time to repair the roof is when the sun is showing?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

This somewhat threadbare old saw is akin to the equally hackneyed maxim "Make hay while the sun shines".

Both are suggesting that you do things now while the opportunity presents itself since another opportunity might not come along for some time, and that procrastination might result in poor results - for instance, waiting to fix the roof after the rain has already leaked through, or waiting to cut the hay after it is too wet and moldy to be of any use, or waiting to pay the phone bill until after the phone line has been cut off.

You first take off the lens of your overhead control panel. Use a very thin screwdriver to pry them down. You should have a tool kit in with the spare tire. You need the allen or hex s shaped tool. Find the hole going into sunroof motor through the lens you took off. Turn tool to open or close sunroof.

Why does your sunroof on a 99 Saturn SC2 get stuck?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Just a suggestion but maybe the track is dirty and needs to be cleaned

with the satun sc series, the sunroof is moved by 2 plastic arms, over time they get brittle and break (it should have had that as a recall) but most power windows are the same way you will more then likely have to go online and order a pair (there is a company who makes them out of aluminum that are really nice and fairly cheep about 1 hour to fix
