No. The proof dollars were struck in Philadelphia instead of San Francisco, so if your book includes slots for the proof coins, there should be two 1999 P's.

Good question but no, I looked the coin up in the 2006 Red Book and on the Internet and found nothing on a 1999-S Susan B. Anthony coin. Though there is a proof for the 1999-P.

First, all 1972 $1 coins carry a picture of President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Anthony dollars were minted in 1979-81 and 1999.

In any case all circulating dollar coins dated 1971 or later are only worth face value. They do not contain any precious metals like silver or gold, only copper-nickel or brass.

A "gold" 1979 Susan B Anthony dollar would be a regular dollar coated in gold (or gold paint). Numismatically, it's worth about a dollar. If it is coated with real gold AND it is a thick enough to be worth anything AND you could get the gold off, it might be worth a bit more (especially if you could salvage the coin itself for a dollar). Broadly speaking, "collectable coins", such as this, aren't.

All silver dollars from 1794 to 1935 have Liberty's picture on them as well as that word, so much more information is needed. You have to determine the coins' conditions, dates, and whether or not they have mint marks. Then you can check sites such as those linked below for values.

Susan B. Anthony's full name is Susan Brownell Anthony. She was born February 15, 1820. She traveled the United States, and Europe and gave 75 to 100 speeches every year on women's rights for 45 years.(1820-02-15).

Up to the time the coin was issued no historic woman had been featured on an American coin. Many coins had carried an image of the symbolic Miss Liberty, but only male presidents and other leaders had been depicted.

Anthony was chosen (note the spelling) because she was a major 19th century leader in the effort to allow women to vote and to gain other rights. Unfortunately the coin's design was rushed to completion and was deficient in nearly every respect. In particular it was almost identical in size to the 25c piece, and carried an especially unflattering portrait of the arguably forbidding Ms. Anthony.

I think Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton both organized the women's rights convention because they both wanted women to have the same rights as men. They both also took kids away from the fathers who have a alcoholic problem.

Susan B. Anthony became motivated to start reform in favor of women's rights as a result of experiencing gender discrimination as early as grade school when a teacher refused to show her how to do long division, something readily taught to males.

I was looking through a coin book that I bought at the store today and it said that there had been a mistake in mints and that the susan B Anthony was made in place of another coin. I'm not sure its worth at the moment but I know that it is worth something.

Most of the "gold" Anthony dollars on the market are plated and have no extra value. In 1999 a few of them were accidentally struck on brass blanks intended for Sacajawea dollars, and these are worth a considerable amount. However you'd need to have the coin authenticated by an expert to be sure what it is.
