What causes a 2001 Suzuki Grand Vitara to veer all over the road at highway speeds?
I don't know, but mine does it too...kinda scary sometimes! I would check the tire pressure first if that is with in spec's then i would have the alignment check as well as the susspension I have this problem too. It seems to me that it happens more often when it is windy. I've had my Vitara blown across lanes on often on windy days.

Hi there,,,,first of all, be careful buying the spare parts because I bough one timing set from the internete, replace the old one and had to put the old one again back.The new one was desintegrating inside the engine...unless it said is made in japan do not even tink about replacing the old one with an aftermarket one.
....You have to take the fan out, the radiator water pump pulley, idle polleys ( both) , the a/c copressor, the a/c compressor braket and finally the crank shaft pulley which need an air tool to take the mail bolt aout.
after that take the ignition colis out and the spark plogs too , the valve cover and the timing cover.Use a rag to cover the oil pan seccion which is exposed to debris getting inside. Aling the marks in the crank shaft sproket an te one tha is in each camshaft , then retire the upper chain , tensioners and sprokers , then the lower chain and the intermediate sproker, begin reasambling in the reverse order ...then rotate clockwise one or twwo revolution in order to check the marks coincide again and procede to reasambling every part in the reverse order
you must to clean the valve cover, the gasket and the timing chain cover, replace the crankshaft seal and use a litle bit grey silicone to make the gaskets

How do you replace headlight bulb on a 2001 Suzuki Grand Vitara?
You have to remove the grill in order to replace any of the bulbs in the headlight housing. Please refer to the answer to "removing the grill".
After removing the grill, there are three bolts ( you can use a phillips head screw driver on them) to remove before you can pull the headlamp housing out. One sits on top and two in both bottom corners of the housing. Once those are removed, you have to pull the headlamp straight out. You may need to use a screwdriver to help pull it away. If it's the drivers side, use the screwdriver on the right (over parking light) side. If it's the passenger side housing, use the screwdriver on the left side (over the parking light). You just want to insert the screwdriver two or three inches and pull up on it slightly. Just to coax it away from the frame.
After removing it from the car, it ill still be attached by the cables running to the lights in the housing. There is a clip you can push in and pull out the connector, allowing you to completely remove the housing now.
Now just locate the bulb that needs replacing and twist the backside of the connector to pull the bulb out.
My suggestion is to replace ALL bulbs at one time. The hassle of getting the headlight housing out, by removing the grill makes it worth the expense of all new bulbs and hopefully you won't have to replace another bulb for a very long time.

I would not do what he just suggested. Overspeeding on a generator will lead to the rotor windings to open up and destroy your alternator. You need to figure out why its overspeeding. It could be one of 2 things. Your controller is malfunctioning or the gas throtlebody is stuck. You should get a professional to look at it.

If your car is anything like mine, it will sometimes lock, and/or twist inside the housing when it retracts! Man I hate it when it does this. Never fear it is easily fixed. My father taught me how to do this when I first started driving, of course this was because he gave me his old car and neglected to tell me that the drivers side seat belt would get itself into a wad at times! What you need to do is this:
Open which ever door it happens to be on, along the floor and on up to the belt itself should be a plastic housing that is attached to the for lack of a better word running board of the floor, take a flat edged screw driver and I say this in all honesty GENTLY pry this up, and then take your hand and pull out the portion that is directly in front of the seat belt that is twisted or locked. Then all you need to do is pull down on the portion of the seat belt that is below the portion of belt that is either locked or twisted then reattach the plastic strip along the floor and side part of door jam and viola your seat belt should be released.
