Input devices for PDA's, smartphones, and tablet pc's are called Apps or Applications. Apps are software programs that let the user do a variety of things like playing games and listening to music.

Launched in 1984, the Psion Organizer was considered to be the first ever PDA. Its first model was based on an 8-bit Hitachi 6301-family processor. It featured 4K of ROM and 2K of battery-backed RAM, and had a single-row monochrome LCD screen. The machine provided a simple calculator and clock but had no operating system. Psion built on the success of this model by launching a newer model, the Psion Organizer II, which boasted a a much larger ROM and either 8K or 16K of battery-backed RAM and featured a newly-designed non-multitasking operating system. Both models had an alphabetically arranged 6x6 keyboard protected by a hard plastic sliding cover.

S-Video ports and AVI ports are used to connect a computer to a monitor/television screen. S-video usually works with older television sets and some monitors. AVI used to be the most common way to connect a computer (desktop or laptop) to a monitor. Currently HDMI and DVI dominate the commercial market.

As for uses: people use them for dual/multi-monitor displays; to extend their workspace. You can also connect your laptop to a better monitor/television and then you can watch a video in better quality.

You can expect it to burn out the piece of equipment it's attached to. Maybe not right away, but fast enough.

I have the same problem with my Toshiba laptop. I've tried all the cleaning techniques, like taking a toothbrush and scrubbing like crazy, but nothing has worked. I think that the only solution is to send it in to be repaired. The cost to repair it yourself ranges from $20-$50. To send it in it costs $60-$80. Good luck!

Only an iPod Touch can get free internet access through a WiFi hotspot. Just go to Settings-->WiFi (turn it on if you haven't already) and it will automatically search for a WiFi hotspot. Once it's found one, tap to select. (you many need to enter a password first.)

The first Windows version which included a graphical user interface was Windows 1, which is not very invetively named!
