After death everybody came to the underworld, ruled by Hades. There you might enjoy eternal happiness in the Elysian fields, or eternal pain in Tartaros. The third possibility was a grey shadowlike non-life.
Mans' curiosity regarding the afterlife goes back to the beginning of mankind itself. Throughout history, there have been disagreements about every aspect of the afterlife. Especially about whether the afterlife exists at all and how does one get there. The concept is not limited to religious followers only, and there are plenty of tales, testimonies, and documents describing the afterlife from people who claim to have been lucky enough to 'catch a glimpse' into eternity and live to tell about it. You can go to most bookstores or scan the internet and find a plethora of people's accounts from all over the world. One of the most famous cases of a person who claimed to have gone to the afterlife was Jesus, of Nazareth. Everyone dies at some point. That is an undisputed fact, but whether we or those who have gone before us go to an afterlife is still very much up for debate.
Do all people need religion or some form of an afterlife or is it just our ego?
This is a very uneasy topic. There are people who have had contact to the afterlife or a form of after life. There are people who wish that there could be an afterlife, but don't believe in it. There are people who believe in a religion, and people who only believe in religion so they have something to emotionally attach themselves to.

No, there isn't. That is one of those things that you can't prove. However, you also can't prove that there isn't one. How might a belief in the after affect the way people live?
If one has a belief in an afterlife it can greatly affect how that individual may conduct themselves during this life. It requires one to have a perspective beyond mortality, that life does not end with mortal death. Those with no belief in an afterlife have a perspective limited to the actions and reward/consequences of a mortal existence.
With no eternal reward or penance, the actions one takes on earth become much more about immediate gratification. If there is no tangible aspect to rewards/consequences then they hold very little sway over individual attitudes.
Individuals believing in an afterlife must have a concept of attaining such, and what efforts or requirements are necessary for access to the afterlife. This often precipitates the belief in a higher being, power or God that is the keeper or planner of the afterlife. Such can greatly alter an individuals thought processes and behaviors.
If one is required to Keep Commandments to attain a Joyous afterlife, an individual with that belief would not be likely to break such commandments.
What is the unanswered bible question?
The year, date nd tym at which the world is going to end.
Answer:
This one should yield many answers. But one question comes to mind that is asked of Jesus by Pilate in the Bible that He didn't bother to answer... as His life was on the line at the time, is:
"What is Truth?" (John 18:38)
The Roman Empire came to power on the heels of the Grecian Empire, from which the world derives its legendary philosophical prowess... the convoluted thoughts and ideas of the likes of Aristotle, Socrates and Plato, that is still taught [and debated] in universities and elsewhere around the world today. The Romans adopted these convoluted ideas into their own culture in an attempt to convince the world [and themselves] that they weren't merely conquering barbarians... but [in the minds of the Roman elite] the intellectual masters of the world.
Pilate had been assigned to his position in the Middle East... and probably missed the hustle and bustle of Roman life... along with the provocative philosophical debates conducted by his peers who sought to elevate their egos above others with their intellectual skill.
The biblical account seems to suggest that Pilate's intellect was piqued, and he was ready to suspend the trial proceedings to discuss the philosophical "question of truth" with Jesus, immediately and at long length.
The answer to the question in Pilate's mind that the philosolphers set forth, of course, is: "Truth is objective..." -- and the human mind spins violently in circles from there, trying to clutch at some kind of understanding of it, like the brass ring on a carousel.
But Jesus didn't bite... and didn't answer the question.
But, while Jesus didn't answer Pilate's question in that heated moment... the Bible does. Jesus tells us through His prayer to His Father: "...THY WORD IS TRUTH." (John 17:17)
The Word of God, the Bible, IS TRUTH. Whenever Jesus mentions the word,
"Truth"... HE's TALKING ABOUT SCRIPTURE... THE BIBLE. The "Bread of Life"... the "WORDS THAT HAVE PROCEEDED OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD."
Truth is "whatever Jesus has SAID." Because the Bible is the Words of the Father... that were SPOKEN by Jesus Christ, the WORD... that were "INSPIRED by the Holy Spirit" in men to be written down.
So, according to the Bible... wherever Jesus says "the Truth"... we can understand, He means Scripture... "the Bible."
* "...he that doeth Truth cometh to the Light, that his deeds may be made manifest..." (John 3:21).
Read: "...he that observes and does what's commanded in the Bible, comes to the Light...".
* "...True worshippers shall worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth..." (John 4:23).
Read: "...True worshippers shall worship the Father through the Holy Spirit and according to Scripture..."
The Truth of God are "His Words of Scripture committed to one's heart." They are God's Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding that He has Personally revealed to someone, that the natural mind and heart of man can't otherwise perceive through the natural five physical senses.
Pilate didn't get an answer to his question at Jesus' trial... but he may receive it on Judgment Day, when their roles are reversed. Jesus may begin with: "Do you remember asking Me, 'What is Truth?'"
The Books of the Bible [the Truth] will be opened for ALL TO SEE AND KNOW on that day [Rev.20:12]. And all of the Satan-blinded and deceived people throughout the generations of men [including the philosophers] will Know and Understand that the answer to that unanswered Bible question is -- Jesus Christ is the Truth.
"Jesus saith unto him, I AM the Way, the TRUTH, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me." (John 14:6)
That's the answer to the unanswered Bible question.
Is James Riordan-Waters a Witch?
No he is not. (Even though I have never heart of him). According to the dictionary a witch is "A being (usually female) imagined to have special powers derived from the devil". Satan is powerful and can at times infuence the mind of some wicked person to carry on doing wicked things. No one, witch or not can force a person to do something against their will, whether it is good or bad. A weak willed person may be influenced into doing something, that however is not by witch craft.
Why do religious believers believe in afterlife?
Religious believers believe in an afterlife because it provides comfort, hope, and meaning to their lives. Many religions teach that life on Earth is just a temporary phase and that there is a continuation of existence after death, which serves as a way to uphold moral values and justice.
