Most people thinks it's nothin but after ages of looking for them, they are actually HIDDEN treasures.

Some characters are marked as essential, and can't be killed. Sometimes this essential 'flag' is removed as part of a quest, like one where you are specifically told to kill them. But for some they are never removed, and are there to stop people making the game unplayable by killing plot-relevant characters.

You can not "use" the shackles (hang by them I assume). you can open and close them but that is it. I don't really know if the rest of these stages are in order but i do know that there are many pyroclastic surges that causes the earth to shake and toxic gas to flow out and choke victims that are too close to the volcano. There are clouds of toxic gas and smoke and hot mud that flow and race after the people at over 65 MPH (miles per hour)! That's too fast to outrun so while some people were trying to outrun these "clouds" they would most likely die! In the end Pompeii was covered in 8-10 feet of ash and debris!

There's a bug that sometimes stops the Blood on the Ice quest from triggering properly. This is the only way you can get Hjerim in Windhelm, if you support the Legion during the civil war plotline.

What happens is, after entering and leaving the city a few times, a murder scene is supposed to happen. If this scene tries to play during the last civil war battle, then Blood on the Ice is now bugged and can't continue. You'll have to wait for a patch, not just one that stops it happening to new players, but one that fixes it if it has happened already.

Yes, you can. The Jarl will be in different locations depending on who you sided with, but the Whispering Door quest can still be started.
