The heat from smoking is too high for the cilia to live. The heat actually burns the cilia and kills the cell.

Technically, in the UK there is no age restriction on smoking tobacco; it is, however, against the law to sell tobacco products to anyone under the age of 18.

Additionally, sale of any product is at the discretion of the vendor, & licenced sellers of alcohol & tobacco often "play safe" & are reluctant to sell such products to anyone who is not clearly at least 21 years old.

Bottom line is that many shop owners & supermarket managers - fearful of criminal prosecution & loss of licences to sell alcohol & tobacco products - institute strict policies prohibiting sales staff from serving anyone attempting to buy such "adult goods" unless said customers are quite clearly full grown adults. Under British laws they're fully entitled so to do, & there's nothing the disappointed prospective customer can do about it.

the toxins in cigarette can be divided to 2 groups, one is the natural component that are in the tobacco plant, that al-thaw mostly are harmless, when burned do become toxic. one of those is Tar.

the other group are chemicals added by the tobacco industry to cigarets for various reasons. main ones are to allow better burn of the cigarette and prevent it from extinguishing. and another group are chemicals added to enhance the absorption of some of the addictive toxins like nicotine for the sole purpose of hooking the consumer.

Pipe tobacco have none of the burning enhancing chemicals, and as result is much more difficult to smoke and keep alight, and there are no chemicals for the addictive propose because pipe smokers generally do no inhale the smoke and there for generally avoid the nicotine kick and the addiction.

so for the most part pipe tobacco is in the natural form and somewhat safer, thaw not intended for deep inhaling

Yes infact it contains more nicotine then ciggarettes! Nicotine is a highly addictive drug found in smokeless tobacco and smoking tobacco. But often people who do use "snuff" and chewing tobacco often doubt it being a drug. So to conclude chewing tobacco is a drug!

It is bad for a dating relationship. The person I have been going out with over the past 10 months came to pick me up and at a certain time during our date he pulled out a red and green package and stuck a wad of chewing tobacco in his mouth and had a cup that he spit in. I have never dated anyone that chewed tobacco. It is not pleasant to look at. He stopped chewing for at least 4 months and when he saw a man that was in his 70's and was still kicking he decided to pick the habit up once again. He knew I did not like this addiction. I made myself clear and he chose the redman pouch over me. That put things into perspective on where I stood in this relationship.
