Can you transfer credits from University of Phoenix to Nashville State?
Possibly. You should ask Admissions and Records at Nashville State about the specific courses you want to transfer.
Phoenix actually really is accredited (as opposed to the many scam schools that are "accredited" by, essentially, Joe's Legit-As-Far-As-You-Know Accreditation Agency), so there's at least a possibility the credits will transfer, but Nashville may have more stringent requirements for particular classes, which is why you should always ask FIRST.
Is the university phoenix commiting fraud?
Not sure what kind of fraud is being referred to, but I would say NO. The University has many assumptions made about it that incorrect. Many years ago, they had some problems that have been addressed. The problem is that those issues keep getting brought up. The issues have been addressed and the university is being led with new leadership.

If you completed the degree while the institution was accredited, than it would be recognized. If the degree was completed while the institution was not regionally accredited then it would not be recognized by other regionally accredited schools, and possibly by some employers.
Does Phoenix University have any lawsuits against them right now?
We are in the process of starting a class action lawsuit we are students.
I started at UOP in May. I completed orientation, but they said they didn't receive my final assignment in orientation, even though I know that I turned it in. There were "several problems" that day. I called tech support got a ticket number and turned it in. Needless to say. no one ever contacted me back about it and I had to repeat orientation all over. This happened to another student that I know of as well.
No supervisor would ever call me back either. I finished my second orientation and began my first block of classes but withdrew after 12 days. They are harassing me for a $2000.00 fee they say that I owe for 2 weeks of classes. I was made to take out $9000 in student loans and I qualified for $5350 in Pell Grants. They told me that I was going to end up owing for the next block of classes!! There was no way!
I also noticed that I was completing my assignments on time, logging in and posting a lot more than any other student in my class, but my teachers and counselors were sending me messages saying that my attendance was falling behind. I was also getting lower grades on assignments that I knew were 100% correct. When I would try to talk to my teachers about it, I would either get spoken to like i was an idiot or I wouldn't get a response at all. My teachers were hardly ever on there and would call and harass me 2-3 times a day at least 4 days out of the week.
I was taking on-line classes because I thought it would be better with my schedule, but it turns out I was on-line 7 days a week at least 4 hours a day. I withdrew a couple months ago, and I am being harassed by email, phone and regular postal mail. I receive letters saying they will settle my bill for $500 if I pay right now; then another one will come saying that I owe $2200. I have sent them emails asking them not to contact me anymore, but they keep doing so. I have had to change my phone numbers because they wouldn't leave me alone. NOW I am receiving threatening letters via email from Austin De Rossie about my unpaid balance. They are going to sue me, report me to corporate, send my balance to all credit agencies. I have kept every single thing I have ever done on UOP, because I had a feeling they were SHADY!
I also had a classmate that withdrew on the same day as me, and they are doing the same things to her. I am being threatened that I will not be able to attend another school until I pay my balance with them. I could go on and on about this so called school, there needs to be something done!! I know there are hundreds of people like me out there with some of the same issues. How can we get this lawsuit going?
I have been an Uof P student for over a year now. I was told it was $8900 a year and have found out it is closer to $20,000. They also have raised tuition 3 times since May 2009 by $300. I have heard of increases that is to be expected but, they are usually around 3% and only once a year. I am leaving University of Phoenix as they have been deceptive with me and told me a bunch of lies to get me to enroll. They also tried to keep my excess funds until I threatened to call the dept of education. I can be reached at mogriswold @yahoo.com
The educational standard that is most commonly recognized by large employers and government agencies is that a valid university degree must be granted by an institution that is "Regionally Accredited" by one of the six accrediting bodies that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDOE).
The University of Phoenix is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association (NCA), which is one of the six recognized by the USDOE. This is the same accreditation credential held by all major universities within the NCA's jurisdiction, including the University of Arizona, Arizona State University, the University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Notre Dame, Indiana University, the University of Nebraska, and dozens of others.
Since regional accreditation is what counts in most employers eyes, a degree from the University of Phoenix is recognized as an accredited university degree and is accepted by most, if not all, major employers and government agencies. In fact, having served as adjunct faculty at two state universities, as an administrator in a community college system, and as senior management for a major media company, I can tell you that I have worked with University of Phoenix graduates in all four cases, including tenured faculty members and corporate executives. (Note: I am not a graduate or employee of, or have any relationship whatsoever with the University of Phoenix).
That said, no two hiring managers are the same, just like no two colleges are the same. Specific hiring managers may weigh the value of a non-traditional university degree differently than one from a brick-and-mortar institution, much like the value of a degree from Harvard or Stanford might be weighed differently than a degree from a state university or small private college.
Do universities look at your grade 9 mark?
Yes, admissions staff will probably look at your grade 9 performance. But you know what? Assuming grade 9 wasn't your finest hour, they will be MUCH more interested in how you turn things around in grades 10, 11 and 12. That will speak VOLUMES about your ambition and character. If I worked in admissions, I wouldn't be phased by an unimpressive grade 9 perfomance.
This is a complex question. It depends on what job you intend to apply for. In addition, if you are referring to an online degree, I believe the jury is still out on how much credibility will be given to online degrees. If you have an online degree and another applicant has a Masters from an accredited school where they attended daily lectures and classes, which degree carries more weight. The more education you have the better, however I think you need to look carefully at the jobs you will be seeking and who you will be competing with for those jobs.
