Which military units received the Presidential Unit Citation during Desert Storm?

The Combat Infantryman Badge (C.I.B.) is awarded to individuals, not to units. The criteria for this award is that the person must have served 60days or more in combat with a MOS (Military Occupation Specialty) designated as infantry. It has been awarded from WW@ till present. If you see this medal on a person's uniform, respect him/her.

The badge is a blue rectangle with a musket inset and surrounded by a laurel leaf.

The information above is incorrect. The C.I.B is awarded only to Infantrymen and SF that have met the requirements. Women are not allowed in the Infantry and cannot receive a C.I.B. and never have been able to. Only individuals with the 11B (Infantry) and Special Forces MOS can receive the C.I.B.

Also, the criteria to receive the C.I.B has become much stricter since Desert Storm and is no longer "blanket awarded" like it was in Desert Storm. No disrespect to Desert Storm veterans. Hooah!

The sword is no longer used for combat. The military uses combat army guns like 45 colt, AK-47 AK-97 RPG, bazooka, rocket launcher, grenade launcher, throw grenades, button explosives, sniper, pistol, bombs, High velocity sling shot.

How many American troops have been killed in Iraq?

According to the numbers published by the U.S Government, they are about 3500 soldiers, but as I estimate (note that I am one of the Iraqi people) they are about 15000 soldiers..

As of today 05 May 2010 the US Government has published these numbers of total casualties in the US Military has lost 4,397 total American Soldiers since 2003. The US Government is not trying to hide or conceal information about the war in Iraq, the death toll in itself is a morbid political tool used to campaign against American Soldiers currently serving without prejudice because they want to be there and not because they were told.

What does a sergeant do in the Marine Corps?

A Sergeant is a Non-commisioned Officer (NCO). His general duties are typically the same as most other enlisted ranks as given in his warrant:

As a SERGEANT you must set the example for others to emulate. Your conduct and professionalism both on and off duty shall be above reproach. You are responsible for the accomplishment of your assigned mission and for the safety, professional development, and well being of the Marines in your charge. You will be the embodiment of our institutional core values of HONOR, COURAGE AND COMMITMENT. You will lead your Marines with firmness, fairness, and dignity while observing and following the orders and directions of your senior leaders and enforcing all regulations and articles governing the discipline of the Armed Forces of the United States of America.

Simply put, a Sergeant is responsible for making sure that the Marines in his charge (Corporals, Lance Corporals, PFCs, and Privates) are where they need to be when they need to be there, do what they need to do when it needs done, and make sure they stay out of trouble.

A Sergeant is equivilant to a Floor Supervisor in the civilian sector.

Why people prefer infantry job in army?

From my experience, they consider it bragging rights. However, if the scenario at Fulda Gap had ever happened, Cavalry units would've had cooks who were further ahead of the lines than any of the infantry, so....

Other than that, being in a line unit would prepare you better for any type of Special Forces selection you may wish to attend, and you'd be more likely to be eligible for enlistment bonuses.
