Will army boot camp make you a hard core soldier?

No, only you can do that. Basic Trainging only prepares you by indoctirnating you with military knowledge, and physical training to prepare you for being a soldier. How "hardcore" you are is a matter of your personality and what you choose to do with your personal experiences.

Actually, "hardcore" in terms of soldiering is more about your ability to do your job, do it effectively, and do it with humility. Every soldier long to be tested in battle (until they get there) and always prays for peace. Soldiering is a contradiction in existence.

What if you are not physically ready for bootcamp?

You will report on the date you are ordered, and the training you receive will make you ready. Really there is nothing to fear. The purpose of boot camp is to make you ready. The US Military does not expect an enlistee to be ready for anything. This is the purpose of Basic Training, to make you ready.

How long does it take for US mail to get from the US to kadena air force base?

It takes about 3 days, pending on time of year. Obviously during the holidays, it will take longer (up to a week). But around the summer and after the Christmas holiday, it should only take 3-4 days. That is about how long it takes mail for me, but I am Navy side. Hope this helps.

What is the role of a guide in Marine Corps boot camp?

Can you reenlist in the army if you quit boot camp?

It is highly unlikely that the U.S. Army will take someone who quit while in boot camp. Currently, with only a very few exceptions, the U.S. Army is not accepting reenlistments from soldiers who have left service after fulfilling their enlistment obligation. So, it is highly unlikely the army would accept someone who quit during boot camp, unless they were discharged for humanitarian reasons.

Where have the US Marines had their boot camp in the past?

In the earliest years of the Corps each Marine Barracks recruited and trained their own men privates. It was not until 1808 that a formal school was designated for recruit training at the Marine Barracks in Washington, DC. In 1861 the recruits were enlisted and trained while marching into battle at the first Battle of Bull Run. The results were unsatisfactory.

In 1911 there were recruit depots in Philadelphia, Norfolk, Puget Sound and Mare Island teaching a standard 60 day training program. (Norfolk was closed that year and reopened at Parris Island and in 1923 the Mare Island Depot was moved to San Diego.) In 1939 only Parris Island and San Diego existed and graduates received advanced infantry and specialist training at Camp Pendelton and Camp Lejeune before assignment to their first unit.

In the segregated Armed Forces of World War II, there were 20,000 African American Marines who received their recruit training at Montford Point and by 1949 that depot was closed and the Corps was fully integrated.
