How many people who sign up for the marine corps fail boot camp and how many make it through boot camp and what are ways that one can fail marine boot camp?

Some recruits fall out even before getting to boot camp. They DEP in and get scared and dont end up going. My platoon graduated with about Half of what we started with. Most are either medical drops or washouts. Medical drops are recruits hurt and need treatment, and get droped back in training to another company. There are also alot of wash outs who should have never been there in the first place.

How can you change your mos in army boot camp?

Your MOS is selected when you sign your enlistment contract at the MEPS centre. While in BCT or OSUT, you may have the option to drop certain elective (for example, you can drop a RIP contract, or you can drop Airborne school), but you can't change your MOS. If you fail your AIT for the MOS for which you enlisted, then you'll be retrained in another MOS, although you're not very likely to have much of a say in regards to which MOS you're retrained as.

Is it true that if you get your ears pierced you can't join the military?

No, but while in Basic Training service members may not wear jewelry that is not of a religious significance (or a wedding band), and males may not wear pierced earrings while on duty, and females must conform to uniform regulations, i.e. no hoops, and small studs.

What is a beatdown in basic training?

In bootcamp, a beatdown is when you are exercised to the point of exhaustion. You can expect to do jumping jacks, situps, pushups, mountain climbers, squats, sharks, and many other exercises that can be done using only your body. This can go on for just a few minutes, to a good hardy beatdown of 1-3 hours straight, breaking only for a quick sip of water. Not to worry though, you will get better at exercise and it will get easier as you progress. Your division WILL get beat down on a regular basis no matter how well it is doing as a whole. Just avoid getting beatdowns because of something stupid you did as an individual. Grin and bear it and remember that bootcamp isn't very long. Oh yeah, when your drill instructor/RDC says the division has been medically cleared, get ready for the beatdowns to begin.

What kind of discharge do you get if your mother dies while your in boot camp?

Are the surplus military firearms about all gone?

can you still find surplus fiirearms No absolutely not. I have picked up many surplus firearms. I have an SKS and an AK 47 among others. I'll be adding to that shortly. They are very easy to find. Still loads in the UK, I have a Lee Enfield No 4 Mk2 in .303 British and a Mauser K98 in 8mm Mauser. There are still loads of these sorts of rifles around.

Various military surplus stores are now providing you guns, rifles and other military product. Some of them are untouched or some are second handed as well.

Can you fight the army's desire to discharge you due to you not revealing medical history following completion of basic training?

It depends what your medical problems are. The Army does (believe it or not) consider your safety, so if for instance you were deaf or couldn't see well even with glasses then yes, they can discharge you. I do believe the Army has to provide you with council to fight this, so check it out. Good luck Marcy
