Where can one purchase branded USB drives?

I you want to buy cheap USB memory sticks there are many places you can go.

For starters EBAY have loads of them, Only problem is sometimes they can be fake, this means they have less memory than is being advertised.

You can type it in on google shopping which has also the same threat as EBAY. There are many sites where you can buy USB's like Play, Amazon etc.

But you can get some for free by joining certain societies over the internet or get them from certain open days at various places. Obviously if you use this method you are going to get a cheap memory stick. Like a 256mb or a 512mb.

How do you download a computer file to a flash drive on windows 7?

Firstly, select the file by putting the cursor on it. When the file is highlighted, drag it onto the flash drive named at the left side of the window, choosing the folder you want to send the file and placing the ghost image onto the folder . When a phrase says, move to that folder, do not press the mouse button anymore. If you select more than one file, drag anyone to the name of the USB placed at the left side of mouse, and the highlighted ghost image tells you how many files are going to me moved, and at this time do not press the mouse left mouse button anymore that all files will be moved to the USB folder.

Where did Dov Moran invent the USB Flash Drive?

In Israel. More specifically, Dov Moran was then the president and CEO of M-Systems Ltd., an Israeli corporation headquarted in Kfar Saba, Israel when he invented the flash drive. What is a backflow prevention device and where do you install it?

A back flow preventer is a check valve that prevents water from flowing backwards into a water supply line resulting in a contaminated water supply. There are degrees of protection ranging from a vacuum breaker on a garden hose line to reduced pressure zone backflow preventers commonly used in a n industrial setting where chemicals are connected to water lines and if pressure was lost on the water supply cross contamination could occur. What is used and where it is installed depends on the application and the treat level. Your local water company should be able to advise what is required and where. ask for their cross connection specialist. a backflow preventor prevents your potable water system from getting contaminated. you can install it where your water main comes into the house. You would also need one if you have a sprinkler system beetween your branch off the main, and where your lines feed into the ground for your sprinklers. This is the best example of what it does. When potable water is pulled through your main line, (when you use your sink, toilet ect.) it can syphone water through one of your branch lines, (sprinkler system line) When the water is syphoned through it pulls whatever is in the line with it. In a sprinkler system whatever you use to improve your lawn can be syphoned through your potable water system through your open sprinkler heads(fertilizers, weed killer ect.). the backflow preventor prevents anything from getting through with a spring loaded valve. Basicaly, like a heart valve it lets the flow of pressure through one way and closes when there is back pressure.

How do remove write protection off a music file?

Origional:You can't. They are copy right protected by the company that owns the rights to that particular artist or song. there is no getting around it, belive me. I used to work for sony music. It is impossible.

Well since I corrected his part I'll put mine in now. I am personally looking for the same thing but have yet to find any answer that helps. I have found the answer that I can not change them from my computer, but if you have the cds for the music you can burn the music onto a computer. You just have to uncheck the box that says something along the lines of: "Protect songs", "Protect Music", "Protected". There should be a check box next to each song.

Does a 1tb flash drive exist?

Yes, but they are slightly larger (for now) than the "thumb drive" versions.

As of 2011, the price for large-scale flash drives has continued to come down. Some 256Gb drives fell to less than $700 USD, and modifications can be made to existing drives to allow 1 terabyte of data storage. The price for an actual 1 Tb drive (solid-state drive) was still in the $3000 USD range in early 2011.

You can simply copy paste the folder but it might not work after transferring. this is because all the folder information and files location is registered in the registry while installing the program. In this case you have to reinstall the program to your external drive.

Why do you call usb a flash drive?

USB is not a flash drive. A flash drive is so called because it uses flash memory that retains data with no power.

Can you slave one sata hdd to another sata hdd?

yes you can. at least in most cases. if you look on your motherboard (the biggest component of any computer internally), you'll see there is 2 (or 3)rectangular boxes right next to each other. that would be the hard disk/floppy disk bank. from each of the rectangles, there's a cord with a certain amount of pins. on each cord, there's (usually) 2 plugs that you can plug a hard disk or cd/dvd-rom into. there you have it.

How do you burn from the flash drive to the CD?

What are PC drivers?

drivers are similar to patches. you have probably heard of SP2 for windows. They are simply upgrades needed for compatibility, and in some cases are use to slighty improve the product. Overall they are a must. You can find the most up to date drivers online, as opposed to the disk sent with your product

Drivers are small programs that allow devices to run on your operating system, They are not PATCHES.

How do you unwrite protect a usb flash drive?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume the following:

  1. The USB flash drive in question has been used before in a Windows environment;
  2. The user is trying to write to the USB flash drive with a Mac.

By default, Mac OS X can't write to any volumes formatted with NTFS format (the standard format for Windows NT and later). If the drive has previously been formatted to NTFS on Windows (the question posed appears to suggest this, since most USB flash drives come formatted FAT32 by default), then the Mac will be unable to write to it.

To remedy this, first, create a folder on your desktop and copy all data from the USB flash drive into it. Then...

  1. Launch Disk Utility (from Finder, click Go > Utilities > Disk Utility).
  2. Select the USB flash drive in the left column
  3. Click the "Erase" tab in the large area to the right.
  4. In the "Format" drop-down menu, select MS-DOS (FAT) if you'd like to use the flash drive with both Windows and Mac computers. Select "Mac OS Extended" if you will use it with Mac only.
  5. Enter a name into the "Name" field, being careful to avoid punctuation or special characters.
  6. Click "Erase..."

After a few seconds, the drive should be ready for use.

Note that if the drive is formatted using FAT32, you will be unable to copy any single files larger than 4GB to the drive (this should only be a problem for very large media files, like video files or disk images).

Questioner:

No it has nothing to do with Mac at all but yes it has been used on Windows.

I was using it to copy some files from my desktop to my lap top and has worked great for some time but suddenly when i was bringing over a 4.6 gig file (The flash drive is 8 gigs and was empty) It delayed and then started saying the files were write protected when they are not. I scanned them and they have no viruses and are deleteable and editable on my desk top. Then my whole flash device started saying it was write protected.

I cant move files to it or off of it and I cant format it even if I wanted too. It is an Ultra Speed 8GB flash drive barely a month hold and has no switch or anything like that. Nor can it be opened as I hear some USB drives can be.

Sorry for the confusion... I should have been more clear and put it under a better category. I hope someone can still answer this problem though.

What is the function of a pen drive?

The USB flash drive stores digital material of any kind, be it videos, powerpoints, documents... The storage of the USB flash drive in presented in megabytes, gigabytes or terabytes.(MB, GB, or TB, respectively.) The more bytes, the more storage. There are no public USB flash drives yet that can hold over 1,023 TB.(1 TB = 1024 GB, 1 GB = 1024 MB, 1 MB = 1024 KB, 1 KB = 1024 B. One byte can hold any amount of bits, that depends on the program, the file or the OS.

How do you format your USB drive to FAT32?

Don't use DOS for large hard drives. Don't use Computer Management either.

Use:

http://tokiwa.qee.jp/EN/Fat32Formatter/index.HTML

Download and run as instructed.

This will format a drive of any size in one (or more if desired) partition. Remember that files larger that 4GB will not be recognised in FAT32 format. So break larger files up.

I ran mine in 'quick format' and it did it in seconds (otherwise it takes hours). Works perfectly.

Hope this helps.
