Can you slave one sata hdd to another sata hdd?
yes you can. at least in most cases. if you look on your motherboard (the biggest component of any computer internally), you'll see there is 2 (or 3)rectangular boxes right next to each other. that would be the hard disk/floppy disk bank. from each of the rectangles, there's a cord with a certain amount of pins. on each cord, there's (usually) 2 plugs that you can plug a hard disk or cd/dvd-rom into. there you have it.
How do you burn from the flash drive to the CD?
i tried to drag from flash drive to cd , can ot work cd is empty
drivers are similar to patches. you have probably heard of SP2 for windows. They are simply upgrades needed for compatibility, and in some cases are use to slighty improve the product. Overall they are a must. You can find the most up to date drivers online, as opposed to the disk sent with your product
Drivers are small programs that allow devices to run on your operating system, They are not PATCHES.

How do you unwrite protect a usb flash drive?
I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume the following:
By default, Mac OS X can't write to any volumes formatted with NTFS format (the standard format for Windows NT and later). If the drive has previously been formatted to NTFS on Windows (the question posed appears to suggest this, since most USB flash drives come formatted FAT32 by default), then the Mac will be unable to write to it.
To remedy this, first, create a folder on your desktop and copy all data from the USB flash drive into it. Then...
After a few seconds, the drive should be ready for use.
Note that if the drive is formatted using FAT32, you will be unable to copy any single files larger than 4GB to the drive (this should only be a problem for very large media files, like video files or disk images).

Questioner:
No it has nothing to do with Mac at all but yes it has been used on Windows.
I was using it to copy some files from my desktop to my lap top and has worked great for some time but suddenly when i was bringing over a 4.6 gig file (The flash drive is 8 gigs and was empty) It delayed and then started saying the files were write protected when they are not. I scanned them and they have no viruses and are deleteable and editable on my desk top. Then my whole flash device started saying it was write protected.
I cant move files to it or off of it and I cant format it even if I wanted too. It is an Ultra Speed 8GB flash drive barely a month hold and has no switch or anything like that. Nor can it be opened as I hear some USB drives can be.
Sorry for the confusion... I should have been more clear and put it under a better category. I hope someone can still answer this problem though.

How do you format your USB drive to FAT32?
Don't use DOS for large hard drives. Don't use Computer Management either.
Use:
http://tokiwa.qee.jp/EN/Fat32Formatter/index.HTML
Download and run as instructed.
This will format a drive of any size in one (or more if desired) partition. Remember that files larger that 4GB will not be recognised in FAT32 format. So break larger files up.
I ran mine in 'quick format' and it did it in seconds (otherwise it takes hours). Works perfectly.
Hope this helps.

What is the difference between flash drive and hard-drive?
There are significant differences between a standard hard drive and flash memory. A hard drive is a fairly heavy palm-sized device composed of several spinning platters and a roving head that reads data that has been magnetically imprinted on the platters. Flash memory refers to a memory chip about the size of a postage stamp, or smaller. The memory chip is solid-state, or has no moving parts and is therefore less likely to fail. It is virtually weightless, retains data without a power supply, is faster than a hard drive, does not generate significant heat, and requires little power. This is excellent news for extending the life of laptop batteries, reducing their weight, and eliminating fan noise from systems.

How do you disable USB ports in a computer?
There are five ways of blocking USB ports completely:
1. Block physically by using a USB Port Blocker such as available from LINDY Connection Perfection, or by improvising.
2. Block from registry in Windows
3. Block using GPEDIT.MSC if you are using Windows Professional versions
4. Block from BIOS
5. Block using 3rd party software
The first four methods above will completely block your USB ports and you won't even be able to use them for devices you may need. So, it is better to use a software solution which can allow your USB drives but block others and also allows you to use devices like printers and mouse. I evaluated a lot of USB blocking software but the best was uHook Personal. You can block all kinds of removable storage devices, password protect any kind of removable storage devices, set policies for authorized and unauthorized devices and can even monitor what files were copied on allowed devices too.
Other products available are usbnotify, usbmon, etc.
