Autozone) where they can check it with an OBDI or OBDII code reader and be able to give you some direction (usually at no cost to you)

quite simply the engine will fail to turn over, if the cam belt has failed then it means more offten than not that a engine strip and rebuild from rocker cover to cylinder head is required to check for bent valves

hi i am assuming you mean heater or glow plugs first disconnect the negative battery lead & then disassemble the air filter & pipework now the ECU unit & other bits that obstruct access to the plugs underneath. carefully unscrew each glow plug after takeing off its electrical lead ,I stress carefully because they can snap off in the head & then its a very dear garage job on this engine they are very thin.Make sure the new plugs are a well none make Champion or NGK dont buy crap with these or you will be replacing them very soon I have done it after replacing the four plugs replace the electrical leads & ECU plus connecters plus air filter & pipework replace the battery lead & try it. The old plugs can be checked with a test meter on resistance, if there is no readings then that is 100% that it is no good, if there is a reading it could still be bad ie only opens up in use.When one of these is down it usually shows on the display as a yellow maintenance engine cymbal hope this helps.

It will be in the air duct between the air filter and the engine inlet.Probably a push fit into a rubbery boss.One wiring plug on it.

I am having the same problems. The Holden dealer has spent 3 days investigating and pulling the car apart. The computer is showing 5 faults in the system, they have resoldered some wonky wires, but still nothing. Same deal, Boot stuck and roof wont open and there is a beeping sound when I drive. The beeping stops when the car is stationary. The dealer has basically said they have no idea but are happy to keep investigating if i'm happy to pay the labour costs! Its a no win situation :( I cant even sell it now because no body wants a convertible that is a sedan!

right hand side of the steering wheel behind the little storage compartment, its behind that undo the four screws and the compartment will pop out, the fuse map is on the back of the compartment.

Assuming this is the same as a UK astra,remove the centre console and gaiter from around the handbrake lever until you see the adjuster nut.Jack up the rear so the wheels are free.Let the adjustment right off the handbrake.Press the footbrake five or six times to ensure the drums are fully adjusted,then pull the handbrake on/off five times.Same if you have rear discs.Ensure the rear wheels rotate freely.Then pull the handbrake on three clicks,adjust the cable until the rear wheels are hard to turn(not locked up).Handbrake off and ensure wheels still free.Rear wheels should be fully braked with four or five clicks.

on the key fob, turn the key over so that the buttons are on the back. there is a small groove near the blade/key end of the fob. you can prise this open using a small screwdriver or if you're strong pull the blade/key part outward/away from the fob. the remaining key fob can then be split in two to get at the battery. beware that you only have a very short time to replace the battery or the fob will go out of sync with the car.

Anyway, i would recommend if you don't know what your doing to take it to a garage. As not using the correct tools and messing up the timing could damage the engine.

Although, i can tell you. (Cam belt)

First, disconnect battery and jack up the front left (as you look at the car from the front) and take off the wheel.

Some cars you have to take the engine mount off, so make sure you support the engine weight with another jack/axle stand. (make sure you put something soft between the surfaces, You don't want to break the sump now!)

Remove the axillary belt/belts. and remove crankshaft pulley ( i recommend using a air wrench or a electric wrench as this will not turn the engine.

Take off cam covers, try not to damage them.

Now this is one of the crucial parts.

Turn the engine (using the crank pulley bolt) to TDC (Top dead center) OR in dummy talk, until timing marks are level (there is one on the crank and on on the cam. fuel pump is indirect so that does not have one.) now to be on the safe side, mark in two places on each pulley with tip-ex or touch up paint.

If needed, use CORRECT LOCKING TOOLS AT THIS POINT!

Slacken tensioner, Remove belt ( try not to move the camp or crank pulleys) at this point.

Put on new belt, BUT make sure the timing marks are still spot on ( and the marks you made with tip-ex or touch up.

Tension belt with tensioner pulley. And check timing marks.

If you used locking tools, remove them now!

Turn engine over twice with a spanner or ratchet. DO NOT USE THE KEY YET.

Check timing is still spot on, if not take belt off, and re-position pulleys and start process from Put on new belt.

If all is well, put all back together, run engine.

If there is any noises coming from engine, Start again and check timing.

Was there any fluid leakage? if so, may have blown a high pressure line, if not, the bearings in your pump may have seized, undo the belt off the power steering pump, can you rotate the pulley by hand on the pump? If not, likely the bearings seized. If you can rotate it without a herculean effort, check your lines and fittings for any wear or loose connections. I'm assuming the popping noise originated from under the hood.

Maybe has something to do with the thermostat, especially if it idles low. I removed mine because of overheating and the same things happens to me. Could be your timing if you fiddled near the timing/fan belt or most probably an electrical fault that will take you a long time to figure out (if other electrical components start behaving funny then take it to an opel auto-electrician cause it will only get worse trust me). Firsly remove the centre console, once removed the matrix is accessible under dash. Remove the 6 or 8 , 5.5mm bolts and 6 clips and then remove the cover,feel towards the front of the matrix (towards bulkhead ) and then remove the plastic clips if delphi type or metal ones on behr type, one on each pipe and then remove the matrix.
