How do you wire a towing 12s plug on a vectra c?
If you already have a Vauxhall 12N kit fitted, buy the Vauxhall 12S kit (part number 93160573, £42.50+VAT). This is ready to go with socket, wiring loom, all fuses and relay, and just plugs into your rear electrical centre (inside the first aid kit stowage door on the left of the boot). Essentially fuse 13 (20A) is the supply for battery charger & fridge, wire through a relay so that pin 4 is live (via 10A fuse) and pin 6 is switched via the relay (via 10A fuse). The relay can be switched from fuse 25 (check this, it's around number 25, only one is switched with the ignition and that's the one you need), the Vauxhall kit comes with a piggy back connector. The 12N kit has 2 spare pins for the 12V supply (5th from left on top row of pins in trailer module - the row nearest the latch with bigger pins) and reversing light (2nd from left in bottom row). No need to tech 2 or similar. If you haven't got the genuine Vauxhall trailer module fitted, you'll need to piggy back the wiring to other wires in the rear electrical centre and reversing light, but this will not give you the bulb check feature or the safety of using manufacturer wiring & fuses.

To take off the plastic on the steering colum remove 3 screws underneath and 2 with plastic caps on, behind the wheel, so turn it to get at them. the steering ajuster stalk can also unscrew. carefully pry open the plastic with a screwdriver. The indicator stalk has 2 clips that let you slide it out sideways, and another two clips to remove the plug, whitch you will again need to leaver with a screwdriver. now you can put the new one in and put it all back together

How do you change front brake pads on 1999 vectra?
Jack the car up and rest it on axle stands. Remove the wheels. Doing one brake at a time, take the spring that is holding the outside brake pad off with a flat screwdriver. There are 4 Allen bolts that need to be removed. 2 x 7mm bolts and 2 x 10mm bolts. These are located on the back side of the calliper. The 7mm bolts are hidden behind plastic caps and the 10mm bolts are exposed. Prise off the plastic caps with a flat screwdriver and undo the 7mm bolts. You will need a ratchet with an extension bar to do this. Once you have removed the 7mm bolts pull the top part of the calliper away and rest it on something, it should take one pad with it. Now undo the 2 10mm bolts, again with a ratchet and extension bar to remove carrier with the other brake pad. To replace the brake pads undo the bleed nipple and use a G clamp to push the pistons in. Now do the same as above but in reverse and then do it all again on the other side of the car. IMPORTANT Make sure you bleed the brakes after they are back together. Good luck.
