What are common meals that vegans eat?
Vegetables, fruits, grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, tofu, soy.
Nut burgers, bean burgers, vegetable burgers, french fries cooked in vegetable oil, donuts, casseroles, stews, vegetarian sausages; 'mac and cheese', pizza and lasagne made with vegetarian cheese; burritos and chili; cookies, cakes, muffins and bread; gelatin-free ice cream, vegetarian jello (called agar)...
They have vegetarian versions of almost all meats. Vegetarian fried chicken, vegetarian bacon, vegetarian hot dogs, you name it.
Some vegetarians eat animal products that do not require animal slaughter, such as dairy products and/or non fertile eggs (I personally consider a chick embryo to be meat). Note that birds, fish, and insects are all animals. Honey is debatable, as bees are usually but not required to be killed to extract the honey.
Also, see the question - 'What do vegetarians not eat?'
If you are preparing a meal for a vegetarian, you should always ask them if they have any allergies regarding food, and avoid the items and items closely related to those they mention.
A vegetarian can eat anything except for the meat of an animal.
Anything really... But meat!
Vegans are people who choose not to consume or use any animal products. This applies to not consuming the actual meat of an animal (mammals, fish, birds, reptiles, insects, etc) but also no eggs, dairy, and items made from deceased animals like gelatin, cochineal, carmine, etc. Vegans also do not wear animal products, such as leather, silk, wool, feathers, fur, etc. Including items in cosmetics, like carmine, cochineal, lanolin, urea, and tons of other items sourced from animals.
Vegetarians also do not eat or use anything that directly causes the death of an animal. (meat, gelatin, fur, leather etc.) The primary difference between vegans and vegetarians is that vegans have a plant based diet entirely free of any animal products.
Veganism is not just a diet. It is a lifestyle/philosophy that aims towards nonviolence. Vegans to do not buy products tested on animals, attend circuses, rodeos, zoos, or any other form of animal exploitation.
It's best to get jam with all natural ingredients - fruit, apple concentrate, pectin (from apples). Some sugar is processed using charred bone and is not vegetarian.
Yes, they don't use animal products, apart from beeswax in a few products. They also don't test on animals.
Vegans do not like eggs because producing them involves cruelty. Shortly after birth, the male and female chicks are separated by workers on a conveyor belt. The males are either tossed into trash bags to suffocate or ground up alive in a machine called a macerator. Video at Hy-Line hatchery in Spencer, Iowa shows healthy male chicks peeping as they are fed live into rotating blades. About 200 million male chicks are killed by the egg industry every year. The female chicks have the ends of their beaks cut off with a hot blade so that they don't hurt each other out of frustration during their intense confinement. It takes approximately 34 hours for a hen to produce an egg. To keep up with demand, 346 million hens are used by the egg industry every year. Five to 11 hens are crammed into tiny wire "battery" cages. On average, each hen's living space is about the size of an iPad. The cages are often stacked on top of one another, which allows urine and feces to fall down onto birds in the lower cages. Large piles of feces below the cages are common on some egg farms. Because of the terrible living conditions, chickens often die in their cages. They are sometimes left to rot in the same space with living birds. After about two years, those who have survived are killed. At the slaughterhouse, some laying hens meet the same bloody end as that of chickens raised for their meat. They are shackled and hung upside down, they are electrocuted, their throats are cut, and they are often scalded to death. (Source, with pictures and video.) Other producers consider laying hens too cheap to spend money sending to a slaughterhouse. Undercover video documented "hens suffocating in garbage cans, twirled by their necks , kicked into manure pits to drown." In 2003, 30,000 unwanted hens were fed live into a wood chipper at Ward Egg Ranch in San Diego County, California. Many hens die in fires, like one in Michigan in 2003 that killed 250,000 hens.
For those who might not know what an "animal cracker" is (cultural differences 'n all), it's "a small cookie shaped like an animal." See image above.
So, yes, vegetarians do eat them.
A lot of vegans do eat nuts, but if you are a strict raw vegan they usually do not. A vegan with nut allergies might also not eat nuts. There are nuts that are dry roasted and have gelatin in it and vegans do stay away from those type of nuts.
Not all breads are vegan as some breads have honey, milk or eggs in them.
Check the ingredients.
Standard Brand Warburtons is NOT Vegan, while Hovis IS.
Make sure the bread does not contain animal fats, like lard.
I've been vegan for a few years and I am very healthy... I served in the US Army as a vegan. Probably the biggest concern would be vitamin B12, but you can easily acquire it from vegan sources as well - nutritional yeast, fortified soy milk, etc.
Also, studies show that vegans and vegetarians tend to lack omega 3 fatty acids in their diet. If attention is paid to this area however, it is not difficult to incorporate in.

It is a great way to reduce pollution, animal harming, and its a great way to become a healthier person. I have given up all meat except for chicken so far. If all the world would become vegetarian, we would have little to no issue in global warming because animal packaging plants and the plants that kill the animal produce SO much CO2~! :(I feel bad for the animals, I guess we never think of that when we eat the poor thing.

Usually juice is vegan. Be careful of added white sugar, as it may have been processed with charred animal bones. Also check the ingredients--if it says "natural flavors" than you don't know what it is.
