You can use a program called BitPim to transfer your phone book.
1. Connect the phone with the phone book you want to transfer to your computer (preferably with a USB cable).
2. Open BitPim.
3. Click "Get Phone Data" (the button with the arrow pointing away from a phone).
4. Select "PhoneBook", and cick "Replace All" to the right. Press OK.
5. Once that is finished, disconnect the phone, and plug in the second phone (the phone you want to transfer to).
6. Click "Send Phone Data" (the button with the arrow pointing toward a phone).
7. Select "PhoneBook", and click "Replace All" to the right.
That's it! Your phone book will now be transferred.

Depends upon your phone provider. There is a program available for backing up numbers with some providers. My company, Verizon, actually provides it free of charge for certain plans. You download that application to the phone and then run it. When you activate the same program on a new phone, for the same number, it will reload all of the numbers.
