Some suffer from Post Traumitic Stress Disorders and flashbacks, others just went on with their lives.

Vietnam veterans, as many other veterans, experience a variety of issues upon returning home from war. These can be both physical and mental, such as post traumatic stress disorder, depression, loneliness, inability to get close to others, drug and alcohol issues, trouble finding work as a civilian, and even homelessness.

All children should be TAUGHT about what they are playing with; TV may aid in this training (good and bad). If children are playing with toy warships, they should be told (taught) what a warship is. If they are playing with toy warplanes, they should be told (taught) what a warplane is. If they are playing with toy guns, they should be told (taught) what a gun is. One thing a parent can bet on. If the parent does NOT obtain a toy gun for his child; the child WILL make (pretend) a toy gun from a baseball bat, or other piece of wood; even a golf club. During the 1950's and 1960's, children used to call it, "playing army." This was usually combined with green plastic "toy soldiers", sold by the bag.

NO! "Va" is abbreviation for the state of Virginia. "VA" is abbreviation for Veteran"s Administration.

Veterans Day is always observed on November 11th. This is because the cease-fire, or armistice, of World War I occurred at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 French time. Veterans Day was originally called Armistice Day for this reason. This date was not the end of WWI. That did not officially happen until June 28, 1919 with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles.

Veterans Day is solely a US holiday. Many other nations have a similar holiday also on November 11th but with different names. In Australia, Canada and Great Britain it is called Remembrance Day. In Australia and Canada it is, again, always on November 11th. In Great Britain it is on the Sunday nearest to November 11th.

They could be put to work on non-war related activities under the Geneva Convention. Many were put to work growing food for the use of the prisoners.

The explaination I was given (in military communications school) was that the Viet Cong were often called abbreviated in messages as VC. In the military, the phonetic alphabet would be used to send the radio message 'Victor Charlie' which got shortened to just Charlie.

Veterans Day is an official holiday in the United States. It is the anniversary of the World War I ending and a day to honor all the people who have served in the United States military. In 1954, Veterans Day replaced Armistice Day as the official holiday.

It doesn't commemorate a specific event . It honors all the people who have served in the armed forces and risked their lives to preserve our freedom.

Because the day celebrates and remembers those who fought in armed conflicts or served in the military.

Most Americans honor veterans because the soldiers died in war and the veterans are alive to tell the great story of a fallen comrade

and also because we love them.

we should honor veterans because they have done so much for us like saved us, risked their lives, and gave us the freedom we have to day. They have done so much they at least deserve our honor. They deserve a lot more then honor because they left everyone they care about to save their country.

The official name is the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. It is not a memorial to war, but rather a memorial to those who went to fight the war.

The first Vietnam Veterans Memorial in the US was a small one erected in New York City in 1968.

The National Vietnam Veterans Memorial was built in 1979 at Angel Fire, New Mexico.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC, was built in 1982. The US National Park Service has the responsibility to maintain the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and does so with tax dollars.

Usually it's November 11. If it is on a Sunday, then Veteran's day is celebrated on the Monday after. If it is on a Saturday, then the day is celebrated either on Saturday or Friday. It's observed mostly in the US. Basically it's a day for honoring all of the US veterans (soldiers).

On Nov. 11, 1921, an unidentified soldier who had been killed in France was buried there. His remains were originally placed in a temporary crypt over which a marble slab was placed until the actual Tomb of the Unknowns was built.

According to statistics, over 1.2 million veterans are currently enrolled in VA healthcare. The veterans receive timely medical assistance, including doctor's visits and medication. They also receive surgical procedures if needed, as well as benefits for living expenses.

The first gulf war was fought in 1990-1991. A total of 700,000 US soldiers participated in 'Operation Desert Storm'. Considering the fact that only 294 US soldiers died during the conflict and the average life expectancy in USA is 78 years , it can be safely said that a majority of Iraq War veterans are still alive. However, there exists no database to indicate the exact number of surviving veterans of Iraq war.

The Fourth Geneva Convention, concocted in 1949, requests that all prisoners of war be treated humanely in regards to living conditions and medical aid when it's needed.
