.mpga essentialy is an .mp3 file, with a different extension, so converting is pointless. Try simply renaming it to .mp3, and then try playing it.

They aren't; AVI videos cannot be opened in QuickTime without additional plugins. I would highly reccommend installing VLC and using that instead of finding plugins for QuickTime.

The quality of a movie can be determined more by the quality of the filming (Tripod, good shot types, good lighting (Bright Locations). Then by quality of footage (I use a 550D (For 720p at 60fps) , then by editing.

This isnt to say that without a dSLR you cant make a decent film, but by using a tripod, you can make a massive improvement.

An NFO file is supplied with each movie (software or anything related) to promote the group, and give general iNFOrmation about the release, such as format, source, size etc, etc,, you should right click the file & open it with notepad to do that !!!!!cheers!!

The Question is clear. So please do not tell that publishing of movie file is needed to see the movie. what if changing of subtitle font is required? just tell how to Open .MSWMM from Vista in XP

The Asker does know that he/she needs to publish the movie after finalizing the editing but the problem is as follows.

The Scenario:Someone (foolish-because relies on Microsoft®) had a machine of his own which had a perfectly legal Microsoft® Windows® XP™ operating system. He was working an a movie project. The project and all of its files resided on a USB Disk. He made some changes using a machine of his brother in another city which had Microsoft® Windows® Vista™ . The person's boss now asks for some further changes. but he is back home but the same software (movie maker) which created the project first handed now gives a message that its is not compatible project file.

Solution:

1) Pay Microsoft® more money and buy Windows® Vista™ (but keep in mind that it too will become obsolete and then you may have to buy Windows7 or 99 whatever)

2) Rework the whole project using Microsoft® Windows® XP™ movie maker. Nighters you spent working on the project are spoiled

3) Reach a machine with Microsoft® Windows® Vista™ open the files and save them in compatibility mode with Microsoft® Windows® XP® after all its your fault, you use Microsoft® Windows® operating system :-D.

4) Pray to GOD that bill Gates dies painfully in a plane crash and can't even be recognized because he burns to death.

Note: Do not download the Microsoft® Windows® Vista™ moviemaker because it won't install on Microsoft® Windows® XP™

The FUN: Save The funniest thing is that both movie makers offer exactly the same capabilities and even save the file with same extension. but are not compatible.

Not necessarily, you can edit your video and still export it without needing to render it.

Rendering just helps edit since if formats a preview so you can play the sequence in the common format that your FCP sequence is. Also if your video is a different frame rate than the sequence or you have multiple layers your will need to render after modifying any of the clips.

Adobe's After Effects (See links below) will give some similar operations to Motion.
