Wellbutrin and Zyban

I'm no expert, but I've been taking wellbutrin for almost a year. I wouldn't call wellbutrin a "high." I have always been a pretty emotional person, but once I got to college and had actual stressors in my life, it kept taking me longer and longer to snap out of moods caused by everyday conflicts. Wellbutrin -and counseling- has allowed me to see conflicts without immediately reacting with emotion. Instead I react with reason, and decide how I should feel once I assess the situation. It's not really an upper, or a downer. It delays emotional response without having a numbing affect. Some people report having jitters, but I never have. I took celexa and then lexapro for awhile, and those gave me bizarre jittery side-effects - I would describe it as constantly feeling like you have to stretch. Wellbutrin really worked for me, but be warned. High doses of Wellbutrin - or even regular doses, depending on the person - can cause seizures. I had one recently and now have to look for something else that works just as well. :(

That is not one of the drugs that are screened. Even if it does show up, it should not affect your job. Many people take anti-depressants and if it is prescribed, employers cannot discriminate. If you have any questions, call the testing lab before you take the test and ask them if it shows up. Tell them that you don't want to list that drug on any forms because you don't want the employer knowing your personal business and if you get a sympathetic representative of the drug screening company, they'll tell you straight. In the past there has been no need nor any ability for drug screening labs to screen for anti-depressants. That MAY have changed, but it is not likley.

what do i do if i accidentally double dose on wellbutrin?

Should go to the E.R. And the side effects last for a good while, depending on how much you took. I'd say 10 hours or so, but you're going to be in a lot of pain afterwards.

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it's close to your next scheduled dose, skip the dose and don't take extra medication to make up for your missed dose.

The painkillers are unlikely to have any interaction. Wellbutrin interacts with the other three, increasing their effects. The exact results tend to vary a great deal from person to person, and depend on your dose of Wellbutrin. The primary effect with alcohol is that you will feel less drunk than you are, like mixing alcohol and caffeine, but Wellbutrin causes some people to have a significantly lower alcohol tolerance. Wellbutrin will increase the stimulant effect of coke and the amphetamine effects of Ecstasy (but not the serotonin effects), so if you take normal doses of them you might have problems with sweating or chills, racing heartbeat, panic attacks, twitches, muscle spasms, disorientation, seizures, or death. By 'might', I mean 'probably some of that'. If you must take them, start with a quarter of a dose. If none of the things above happen, try a half dose the next week. Also, because Wellbutrin prevents the re-uptake of norepinephrine, if you do overstimulate yourself the only way for your brain to keep you from dying is to break down all your norepinephrine, which will plunge you into depression for a week or so, but it goes away.

Not unless you want to feel like your going insane! Talk to your Dr and have him/her make you a taper down schedule. You don't ever want to quit an antidepressant cold turkey. It could kill you and if it doesn't you will feel so crappy you will want to die.

Yes, I get them as a male 34 yo taking XL 150. Anxiety plays a great deal too. But then again an anti depressant can cause almost any bizarre side effect at anytime during treatment. Just remember the pros and cons and don't stress over the somewhat anti-stress drug -defeats the purpose.

Bupropion's weight loss effect doesn't happen every time for everyone. It is however pretty common. I'd ask how long have you been on this medication? This effect doesn't set in instantly -- often it takes some time.

I am weaning myself off of Wellbutrin. I am in my second week of taking one pill every other day. I have been sick for about three days now. Nausea, diarrhea, shakiness. Hope this ends soon.

400mg is the max recommended dosage for therapeutic use. Typically, no more than 300mg is prescribed. If you are taking it for recreational use, it's not a wise idea since it does significantly lower the seizure threshold.

Treatment involves removing all pain medications for a period of time, then not using pain medicines more than 3 doses per week to prevent the return of MOH. Any time a headache changes or a new type of headache appears, it is recommended to seek the help of a physician, especially a Headache Specialist.

I am taking a antidepressant and can't stop yawning is there anything I can do without stopping the medication?

Well if you are a teen anti depressants are more likely to make you depress even more, but remember usually they take weeks to cure you depression if you just started taking them???

If you are expecting the Wellbutrin to do all the work, then never.  It will help decrease your desire through mood, appetite, and taste changes...but it is an aid, not the cure.  You have to actively want to cease smoking.

No danger other than the side effects listed for each. Wellbutrin+nalextrone is Contrave, a weight loss drug close to FDA approval. A possible side effect of trazodone is weight gain so if using wellbutrin/ nalextrone for that, you may want to check w you dr about adding trazodone
