Both Wellbutrin and the phenylephrine in DayQuil can lower seizure threshold, so if you have epilepsy that'd be bad news bears. Also, both Wellbutrin and the dextromethorphan in DayQuil are dopamine reuptake inhibitors, which can lead to hypertension and racing heartbeat. However, this effect really only kicks in with the dextromethorphan at high doses (like the doses people take to get high on it), and there's only like 15mg in a single dose of DayQuil. Overall, it's pretty safe.

my fiance took abilify and during a camping trip she walked off to get firewood. we could not find her for almost 15 minutes, we took her to the hospital due to the fact that she had no memory of who she was or who we were. it is speculated that the abilify caused the seizure because she had very recently been perscribed that medication. siezures are also a side affect of abilfy

There are many different experiences for "quitting" a medication. Quitting usually means stopping without medical consultation. Stopping means a planned or approved cessation to the medication. If one is not feeling better on the medication, then stopping maybe indicated, especially if a variety of doses have been tried.

With simple google review, one can ascertain that titration down (taper) is the best method to end an antidepressant. That said, in the lower doses, there is very little reporting of folks having a withdrawal syndrome akin to SSRIs (zoloft etc.) There is a chance one can experience depression after stopping wellbutrin, especially if that is what one is being treated for. Again, if the medication isn't helping (lots of side effects) then the depression isn't likely to worsen in the absence of the medication. Each person is different but the majority of reports on stopping wellbutrin seem to indicate little rebound to depression. Also the manufacturer advises immediate stopping if one has a seizure (which means that all other impacts of the drug stopping are trumped, and ok with a sudden stop).. That said, a seizure is not the same as stopping for lack of efficacy. Stopping a medication due to a seizure does not mean the depression goes untreated. Another medication is probably in order.

This is too large a dose to start on. The manufacturer suggests starting at 5 to 10 mg, and not increase above 10mg for at least one week. 20 is the usual maximum dose. However, your doctor may advise 40 milligrams in some circumstances.

I tried wellbutrin with just about every ssri out there, in different combinations and dosages but in three years I haven't found anything that significantly offsets the sexual side effects of ssris.

Unfortunately, I think that if you're prone to the sexual s/e's of ssri there is nothing you can do about it - other than to stop taking them.

Depends really on whether you are male or female. I can not answer for the woman, but for men, it makes sense to a certain degree. When you ejaculate, you are releasing live cells from your body, as well as a carrier fluid. These things have to be replaced, and that takes energy and materials. And if you are rather shall we say vigorous in your undertaking, so much that you break a sweat, then well you have been exercising, exercise you may not have done otherwise. I am a doctor. This is something called sleep paralysis---an extension of what normally happens during sleep to protect you from hurting yourself. Much as some people have a release of this effect (like with sleep walking), some have an extension of it into the period when they are waking up. Not dangerous, but scary. Sometimes it can be treated, ironically enough, with meds that make your sleep very deep in general, but not really necessary. Mention to your doc as it can sometimes accompany other more serious sleep disorders.

Yes you can take them together. They do not interact. Talk with your doctor to make sure you need both medications to help you stop smoking.
