Wicca is a spiritual path that affirms the existence of supernatural powers (magic) and of both male and female gods who are inherent in nature. All practitioners of Wicca are witches, but not all witches are practitioners of Wicca. Wicca refers to the recognized religion but is not the sole example of pagan beliefs. There is nothing called Dark Wicca. Wicca is a religion, it is neither Dark or Light.. There are mysteries in the craft of Wicca, and the unworthy would use it for dark purposes. That is why there is a degree system in Wicca, where the secrets are revealed only to the worthy. Wicca is about life and earth and magic. It is up to the individual to decide what they shall attain in their life time.
As far as becoming part of the Wiccan path everything I have read states that you must study the path for a year and a day and then dedicate your self to the path. I would highly suggest buying a book on Wicca. The one I am currently reading is Teen Witch by Silver RavenWolf. Another good one that I have read is Wicca: The complete Craft by D.J. Conway.

NO, Pagans and all the branches of Pagans do not eat people! It is against the very essence of the religion. For example the Wiccan Rede says
"And ye HARM NONE do as ye will" and it says

So no, Wiccans and pagans and such don't eat people. Yes there is a history of sacrifice (animal) but Pagans don't eat people. And it was only a select group that practised sacrifice, and we were not the only religion. Many have done worse. Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and other polythiestic religions.
It's entirely possible that some pagan tribes in South America or elsewhere might be cannibalistic, but you wont find that in the civilized world.

If you are born, and/or inducted into one spiritual path and choose, of your own free will, to change your path it requires study and commitment.
First,
- You should seek out people of your current spiritual path who you trust and respect and talk to them about your "crisis of faith."
- Many times just expressing your doubts, reservations and fears to someone who walks the same path as you can be of great help at sorting out your own difficulties.
- Be certain you wish to make a change, and remember you will have to (in the eyes of the Catholic church) deny God in one form to accept a new spiritual path. And also remember, that paganism is not held in good regard by the path you are considering leaving. You will be told you are putting your immortal soul in jeopardy by engaging in "witchcraft."
Next,
- You should seek out people of the pagan path you are considering (there are many, Wicca just being one of them) and spend some time talking freely, openly and in depth with them about their beliefs, practices and lives.
- Attend a few open rituals with a group in your area. Observe and ask questions to help you understand what it is you are seeing/experiencing.
- Read several books by several authors on the spiritual path you are considering. I have met too many people who "know all they need to" because and I quote, "I read a book." Paganism in all its complexities is not something you can understand in the reading of a single book.
- As Paganism does not have a single source or "Bible" the interpretations are as varied as the practitioners.
You still have some work to do.
- You should do some serious soul searching, be sure you are undertaking this change for the right reasons, and that you are ready to commit to the change.
- Meditate, open your mind to the possibilities, be brutally honest with yourself, consider the down side, talk your plans over with someone you trust and who knows you well, be certain of your motivations.
- Let the universe be your guide, because if you are truly intent on following a pagan spiritual path you will be doing a lot of that sort of thing in your everyday practice.

- Find a group, a Circle or a coven you are comfortable with and talk to them about joining.
- There are several levels of involvement, usually classes and studies and interactions with the group for a specific time period (most commonly a year and a day) before you will be considered an active member of the group.
- If you are planning on making the change to a solitary practice of a pagan path, you are undertaking a lifetime of work. Being a solitary has its rewards, but working, living and celebrating within a group is a wonderful experience.

The main items used can be of virtually any quality - the Deities won't be offended if the best alter you have is a piece of wood on top of two cinder blocks. A Pagan Perspective.I have been an ethical practitioner of magic for more than 40 years, and I can say with a fair amount of certainty, that the conscientious and ethical practice of magic and witchcraft does not put you in danger from evil spirits.The belief that magic and its practice, is basically wrong/evil/bad is usually espoused by those with little true knowledge or understanding of the craft.
Most practitioners are good/honest/caring people who follow one of many spiritual paths that are not that much different from other spiritual paths.
