and anyway loads of people down my road complained saying they were noisy, and we didn't even live near one! I don't know why people complain, i really dont.

The power of the wind comes from the sun. As the sun warms the air, it rises and displaces cold air, that cold air has to move out of the way, so we get wind. The air is also warmed and cooled indirectly from the earth and the sea. Because the earth is denser than the sea, the earth warms (and cools) more slowly than than the sea, so the air over the earth and the air over the sea are always different temperatures, so they are always trading places, so there is always wind at the seashore.

The bill provides that nothing shall be construed to (i) invalidate any provision of a restrictive covenant that prohibits or restricts the installation or use of any solar collection device if such provision was in effect before July 1, 2008, or (ii) prohibit the amendment of a restrictive covenant on or after July 1, 2008, to prohibit or restrict the installation or use of any solar collection device if such amendment is adopted by the membership of the community association in accordance with such association's governing documents.

Wind Turbines create low cost energy, but it should not be considered free. Their large capital cost means the electricity produced from Wind turbines is much more expensive than other forms of electricity generation like coal and gas.

Some places have more constant winds than others.

A windmill produced electricity while the wind blows. It may produce energy when the wind blows and people don't need it. People don't need all the energy a windmill produces all the time but they may need energy when the wind is not blowing. Windmills are therefore linked up to battery systems and charge the batteries when the wind is blowing, energy is being produced, and nobody is using it.

When people need energy and the wind is not blowing (no power is being produced) they use power from the batteries.

Yes the temperature differences brought about by the exposure of the atmosphere to the sun cause the air to move about. If the sun was not there to do this there would be no wind. the fact is that just about every form of energy that we use has its origin in the sun.

Wind Mills are used to pump water from the earth. Although some wind mills were retrofitted to produce electricity.

Wind turbines have large blades that are designed to create lift to turn a rotor. In large scale turbines the rotor usually connects to a gearbox. The gearbox will then be connected to a generator. The generator similar but much larger is like the alternator in a car, produces the electricity. Then the electricity goes into a transformer then to the grid. There are a lot of different designs of wind turbines and some might not have all these components but they all have generators.

It depends on time and location.

If you place your windmill on top of a hill, it will be the most efficient. But as for your question, its down to the matter of time. How long is the windmill going to be running for?

If 2000Kw where used to produce a windmill.. and the windmill produced 1000Kw a year, it would make its effiency in 2 years. This is called pay back time!

Sure you could, but the sand would wear down the blades quickly and maintenance costs would be very high.

Solar is a much more appropriate form of renewable energy for desert climates.

Advantages:-

1. coal is cheap to buy( not all but some varieties)

2. it serves as a fuel in industries and hence is very important

3. it can be used to generate electricity

4.powdered coal has been liquified by using hydrogen under high pressure. this liquid coal is mainly used to power ships

5.it can be used as a good reducing agent (for producing iron and steel)

6.it burns without smoke.

disadvantages-

1. it is non-renewable resource

2. it emits harmful gases (mostly carbon dioxide (CO2)) which cause both pollution and global warming

3.it is a bad conductor of heat and electricity

4. one of the gas emitted is carbon monooxide. This is highly poisonous and even 1% of it consumed can cause death

5.it takes thousands of years to form

6. it cannot be recycled

one wind turbine can produce enough energy to power 10000 houses with the right amount of wind.

Wind farm is a misnomer because it produces electricity by wind but it's not a farm which we grow winds, it's a field.

First, the turbine itself does not store the energy. One needs a battery or capacitor for that. The amount of energy a turbine produces is determined by the size of the turbine and the speed of the blades, and the average RPMs in a given day. Short answer: it depends. It is best to couple the turbine as a backup for a solar array for times when the sun is not sufficient to power the cells, on the theory that when the sun is not shining during the day, the wind might be blowing because of a storm.
