If a 17 foot wind turbine can produce 3 Kwatts is that per day or hour or minutes?
3 Kilowatts is a measure of electrical power and means the wind turbine produces 3,000 joules per second. So the question is fairly meaningless, assuming the wind is at the right speed it will be producing 3kW every second, every hour and every day!
What is increasing most in China - coal energy or wind energy?
In 2012, for the first time, China increased its wind power production more than its coal power production!
Why is Renewable energy good for us and your environment?
Because the energy is not releasing harmful gases like co2 and methane into the enviroment.
What wind speed is required to Flip A Keeled Sailboat?
Generally speaking wind is not the only ingredient in a full capsize, a boat may be heeled over perhaps to a point where the mast may almost touch the water, at this point the force of right moment in the weight of the keel takes over to keep it from capsizing, also as the mast goes farther over the wind begins to spill off the top of the mast, reducing the forces on the mast and tendancy for a complete capsize. Large waves, especially breaking waves will have more of an effect on flipping a keeled sailboat that perhaps becoming beam or sideways to the waves .
How far from property line a wind turbine should be installed?
Different places have different regulations. Check your local (country/state) planning laws and building regulations.
Why are there no wind turbines in Singapore?
The limitation of wind power is that no electricity is produced when the wind is not blowing. Thus, it cannot be used as a dependable source of base load power. Utilities and merchant generators will not invest huge sums of money into a technology that does not work when the wind is not blowing. Americans want the lights on when they flip the switch, no questions asked. Wind power will probably increase its market share when we develop a 'smart grid' that can handle multiple distributed generation input sources of electrical power.
Why are the Bessy Bell and Altahullion sites good locations for a wind farm?
Because it has a lot of wind -.-
Does wind power contribute to any pollution or does it help?
In reality wind power actually helps to cut down pollution, not by much but it's something.
How many wind farms are there in Canada?
Appended is last of 32 windfarms in Canada with outputs over 10 Megawatts
What gauge of wire must be used in homemade wind turbine?
You would need to know the maximum watts and voltage you could generate then go from there. In home use you use 12 gauge wire at 120 volts to handle up to 20 amps. 14 gauge for 15 amps. If you're operating in 12 volt it's a different ballgame.
How expensive is it to decommission a wind farm?
Considerably safer and cheaper then decommissioning a fossil fuel, nuclear or hydroelectric powerplant
relatively expensive
What are disadvantages of ngn next generation networkingand how to solve them?
NGN need 13 softswitch to replace one class 5 switch
Is wind blowing the vanes of a windmill chemical energy?
No; when wind blows the blades of a windmill, that's mechanical energy.
Sentence with solar wind in it?
The Earth's magnetic field helps protect our planet from the harmful effects of the solar wind, a constant stream of charged particles emitted by the Sun.
Do wind farms interfere with flight patterns of migratory birds?
No they don't. The birds can fly higher than the wind turbines and the turbines help create green power.
Where does the energy for wind and ocean currents come from?
The energy for wind and ocean currents primarily comes from the sun. Solar radiation heats the Earth's surface unevenly, creating temperature differences that lead to changes in air pressure, resulting in wind. Additionally, wind interacts with the ocean's surface, generating currents, while factors like the Earth's rotation and the gravitational pull of the moon also influence ocean currents. Together, these elements drive the movement of air and water across the planet.
How are solar power and wind power unreliable?
Solar Panel Issues Include
Wind Power Issues Include
Alternative energy strengths
What is the definition of wind power?
Wind Power Is The Use Of A Windmill To Drive An Electric Generator
(whoever wrote this should study more no offense, right User:Quirkyquantummechanic)
Do wind farms require staffing?
All mechanical operations require staffing for preventive maintenance programs, security, record keeping, and other routine tasks. A windfarm is no different.
How do you parallel wind turbine electric generators?
If you mean how to you wire together two or more wind turbines together before the they reach the charge controller then you have problems:
1) The voltage is AC so you either need to phase the AC output together, and feed that output into the charge controller, or
2) You rectify each output to DC (using diodes) and equalize the voltages from each before they go into the charge controller. If you do not equalize then the current from the turbine with the lower voltage could be blocked by its own rectifying diodes. Do not remove these diodes either as one could end up driving the other turbine.
3) Use a separate charge controller for each turbine then wire together downstream.
